It had been two months since the final battle, and the death of the girl who had been dubbed the saviour of the wizarding world, Harriet Potter. Not long after she finally vanquished Voldemort, she had been hit in the back by the killing curse, which had been cast by one of his followers who remained on the battlefield. Her death affected her friends and the entire wizarding world in general, but little did they know, that she was about to be reborn into a new world and have a second chance at life and love. Only thing was, she was to be born without magic, and any memory of her previous life, but death would make sure she was given the same name in her new one. But death also had another plan for it's mistress, a failsafe if you will, that if the one she loved was ever in mortal danger, her memories of the wizarding world and her magic would re-awaken, and the girl who lived would rise once more.

Once upon a time, there was a king named William, who ruled a large and mighty kingdom. And yet, he was sad. For he was growing old, and had no child to inherit the throne. Then, happily a daughter was born. A princess with golden blonde hair and eyes a shade of green that outshone any emerald, and she was given the name, Harriet.

Kings and Queens came from all around to offer their gifts to the child, among them, was the widow Uberta and her young son, Prince Derek. As the young prince who was three years of age presented their gift to the princess a golden necklace in the shape of a heart with a swan engraved on it, they both smiled at each other. And, it was then, that William and Uberta happened upon the same idea. Derek and Harriet, would be brought together each summer, in the hopes that they would fall in love, and join their kingdoms forever.

But unknown to all, was another plan that of the evil enchanter, Rothbart. Harriet's birth was, of little concern to him. For he was preparing to take William's kingdom, by means of the forbidden arts. On the eve of his assault, William attacked and Rothbart's powers were plunged into darkness.

Despite calls for his death, the enchanter was only banished. "I'm not finished with you yet Willy. Someday I'll get my power back. And when I do, everything you own, everything you love, will be mine." Many feared King William too kind. But in time, the threat was forgotten. And all hopes turned to that not too distant summer, when Derek and Harriet would meet.
