Chapter 5

I walked up to him.
"Why are you here so early" I asked.
"Trying to get a lot of the work done" he answered.
"Why"
"Just wanted to get it out and of the way, it was keeping me up last night. Why are you here so early?"
"Couldn't sleep" I answered.
"Oh"
I didn't know what was going on but something didn't seem right. Now he might be a good worker but he didn't seem the type to put extra work in if he doesn't get something out of it.

We both worked and when 6:50 came round, a lot of my colleagues joined us. They were all nervous as we were having a meeting. The whole department would be there but no one knew why. We already done a huge amount of the work and we were pretty stretched.

"I just wanted to say, I really enjoyed the weekend, it was really fun" Harry said suddenly and quietly.
"Yes, it was" I answered just a little startled.

It was around 10:30 when the whole department was ordered into the meeting room where the big boss already was. We all went in like soldiers, stone faced and not saying a word. The big boss was at the end of the table not looking happy but he never did.

"I have brought you all here today as my boss wished to talk to all of you about you performance" I didn't even know there was another boss.

We waited for someone to come in or begin speaking but nothing happened, just silence. After awhile the tension broke as a male assistant came in holding a device. Everyone was confused. He placed it down and the big boss clicked a button. It beeped and then a intimidating modified name spoke.
"You don't know who I am but I know every single one of you and I know details you probably wouldn't want anyone to know." Harry tended further.
"I just wanted to thank all of you on the current project, it's coming along well but we have decided that you must not speak of this again. The parking garage has been completed and so has the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor and so we are erasing all records on it. If you try and get it back you will be fired, if you speak of this something worse will happen." Once the project is completed, all records will be struck."

Everyone was confused, frightened and intimidated. Then the line went dead. The big boss got up without saying a word and left the room. Everyone looked at each other with the expression of 'what the fuck was that'

Then the project manager said
"Right, considering what he said, Harry, Ben, Gloria, Clare and Florencá. You are no longer needed so count this as a early vacation. You may now leave." We stood up and left.

We went outside. I was super confused at what just happened but Harry looked deep in thought and worried.
"What wrong Harry, you haven't seem right all day?" I asked.
"Nothing, just found that whole thing really weird, the whole company is about money. They would never give us more payed vacation than already allowed"
I saw his point.
"Do you wanna come back with me" Harry asked as we got to the car park.
I said yes and we hopped in his car and drove back to his house. He still looked deep I thought.
"Are you sure your alright, you didn't seem right this morning either?"
"I'm fine" He kinda yelled from anger.
I didn't pry more after that response.
