Castiel just wants the best for Dean. He knows that Dean is going to college and is going to do great things, and Castiel can't live with the fact of potentially holding him back. He knows what he has to do, but he doesn't want their relationship to end. The two have been together for two years and Castiel truly loved Dean with every piece of his soul.
As Castiel got out of bed that morning, he knew that it was time. He had to break up with Dean. With a sinking feeling in his stomach, Castiel got ready for the day. Nothing special, just a simple t-shirt and a hoodie. He took a deep breath as he looked at himself in the mirror. He knew that after today, nothing would really be the same. He wouldn't just be losing his boyfriend today, but he is losing his best friend.
For years, Dean has been the person he's told everything to. He knew every single one of his secrets and he knew all of Dean's. They shared their hopes and dreams and that is why he can't let him know about the baby. Castiel knows that Dean would do 'the right thing' and stay with him to raise the child. If only Castiel could convince himself to abort the baby then all would be solved. He knew that he had that choice, but he had grown too attached to the baby already.
Castiel shrugged on his backpack and braced himself for the difficult day that he had ahead. he unconsciously put his hand over his barely-there bump. "You might not have Dean, but I'll do my best to fill in the gaps."
As of now, no one knew Castiel's secret, but he was beginning to second guess his decision to keep this to himself. He didn't want to mess up Dean's plans, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to do this by himself. He shook his head and tried to keep those thoughts out of his head. He had no time to second guess his decision.
When he arrived at school that sinking feeling in his stomach was still there and didn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. Castiel was lost in his thoughts at his locker when Dean came up from behind him and gave him a tight hug and a light kiss on the neck. Castiel swallowed thickly dreading the next few moments. He turned around and gave him a weak smile.
"Hi...." Castiel whispered looking down at his feet. Of course, Dean automatically knew that something big was on Castiel's mind.
"Cas, what's wrong?" Dean asked with a hand around Castiel's waist.
Castiel took a deep breath before speaking. "I have something to tell you."
This would be a good time to tell him that you're pregnant.
"I want to break up." Castiel stated as clearly as he could. He watched as Dean's face fell and his eye started to get watery. Dean removed his hand from Castiel's waist and took a few steps backward.
"I don't understand." Dean said trying to make sense of what happened. As far as he was concerned their relationship was going great. They were talking about moving in together after graduation a few weeks ago, and not they're breaking up? Something is not adding up.
"I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore." Castiel whispered, not daring to look Dean in the eyes.
"Yeah. I got that part." Dean huffed. "What I'm asking is why?"
"I don't need to explain myself to you. Our relationship is over. That's it." At this point, Castiel knew that if he stuck around any longer, he was going to start crying. He turned around and started walking to his next class with tears threatening to fall. After he turned the corner, he couldn't help it. Tears started running down his cheeks and he tried his best to wipe them with his sleeve as he walked into his first class of the day. He didn't have a boyfriend anymore, and it was starting to feel like Castiel didn't have anyone in his corner.
The rest of the day went by so slowly that Castiel decided that it was the longest day he had ever experienced. Everything was different. For study hall, Castiel usually met Dean in the library to study and hold hands across the table. However today, Castiel didn't even step foot in the library because he feared that he would lock eyes with Dean and break into a million pieces. So instead, Castiel sat outside in the courtyard on a bench trying to keep his breakfast down as he did his homework for French. Conjugating verb was difficult when it felt like you could throw up at any moment. Castiel managed and found himself absolutely starving by lunch time. This is when Castiel would normally eat with Dean and his friends in the cafeteria, but he still didn't have the courage to face Dean. So, Castiel found himself sitting in a corner of the courtyard, alone, with a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
By the time he got home that day, he was ready to collapse into bed and process all of today's events but Amara had different plans.
"Let's have a movie night." She suggested standing at his bedroom door.
Castiel raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "I'm pretty tired, I had a long day at school." Castiel tried to explain, but Amara wasn't taking any excuses.
"All the more reason to have a movie night." Amara reasoned as she walked into his room and stretched out her hands to get him out of bed. "Come on."
Castiel laid there for a few moments trying to think of a better excuse, but he had nothing. "Are there snacks?" Castiel asked lifting his head up.
"Yes, and it's all ready to go." Amara answered in excited voice. "'You just have to say yes."
Castiel sighed and nodded as he took his aunt's hands and stood up to follow her downstairs and into the living room.
