heyo my name is Xi and this is just an idea that i thought would be kinda cool to write so if its terrible well... I warned you. might change the bookcover. constructive critacism is always appriciated and please keep in mind i am not an adult please be nice

I did not ask to be pulled from my job as gaurdian of the gates of Hades palace just to be a placed as a gaurd to a nineteen year old mortal. Only because Hades was uncomfortable with his child going to a new country where more monsters resided. Pardon me let me rewind to the begining in which this conversation was held two days ago...
  
   I was at my position at the gates, when I got a message that there was some sort of new soul that broke in from the field of punishment. It was in the palace and it needed delt with. I looking over at my sister gaurdian Aurophilia pleadingly and say "would you go deal with it?"
  
   she chuckles at me and hisses "oh no I delt with the last one so it is your turn."
I sigh and look at her with disdain "you know I hate humans and the ones from the fields are the worst" I grumble.
  
   "well hopfully the hounds get there before you do but you still must go and check" she laughs.
I sigh again and unfold my wings "I hate my job" I growl than fly off, Aurophilias laughter fading as I get closer to the entrance.
 
   As I near the second wing, the place in which the soul was last seen, I hear howls behind me meaning the Hellhounds had not in fact gotten to the lost soul.
 
   I huff in annoyance "I hate humans" I growl under my breath for the second time. This was the fourth time this month a soul had broken into the palace it was a good thing Persephone was with her mother otherwise she would have a fit. Then I would have a lost soul and an angry godess I shivered at that thought. I hated an angry Persephone, the last time she was here when a soul wondered into the palace it wondered into her quarters while she was bathing and she destroyed half of the palace in outrage.
 
   I finally found the soul it was huddled near the entrance to the trone room trying desperatly to open the the locked doors.
 
   "Where is that going to get you?" I announced
 
   "I-I dont deserve to be punished I demand an audience with Hades I am a king I am a good person I refuse to be punished" it shreaked. I grabbed my fiery chains  from my waist and wrapped them around the soul it screamed in anguish.

   "You kings and your usless attempts at persuasion you do not deserve an audience with Lord Hades you vile slimy insignificant mortal thinking you are somehow entitled to speak to Him you do not even desrve to speak to the dirt beneith his feet-" I am cut off by a deep voice.
 
   "Eliakeiloana that is enough just send him back I have to speak with you" I turn around to see Hades lord of the underworld standing with his hands in his suit pockets. I look at the struggling soul I hade wrapped in my fiery chains and hiss

   "Go back to whatever punishment you where sentenced to, I find you here again and I will cause you're punishment to be a hundered times worse than anything you could ever dream of!" with that it dissaperes, the only sighn it was ever there in the first place was the faint smell of burning souls.
  
   I look at Hades with a faint smile "scaring the dead is the only fun I ever get with this job" I say.
He chuckles a little bit and than looks at me his exspression serious "I have a new job for you."

  
   "I have not been assighned a new job in almost three millenia what is it?" I ask

   "Walk with me" he says and turns around walking down the corridor. He does not say anything untill we reach the  gardens, he comes here a lot when he is stressed or is just missing Persephone [it was her favorite spot in the castle so it remindid him of her]"I know you most likely are not going to like this job but you are the most fit for this job givin you are the youngest of your sisters... I need you to watch over my daughter Selene." he murmers playing with the leaves on a witewashed maple sapling "she is moving away to collage and her mother is worried. she does not know about me or this whole other life."

  "Wait." I stop and look at him, he had moved over to a patch of irises "you have a daughter? And she thinks she's human"

  "Well she is half human but yes, she is unaware that she is half god which makes moving away from her mother even more dangerous." he sighs and sits down at a bench incrusted with rubys and diamonds. I  follow suite and sit next to him, I face Hades and look at him quizically
  
   "Why have you not told her?"   I asks

   "It was her mothers wish, Maybell said that she did not want Selene to have any part of my world. That to many demigods died young, and ignorance was a good protection." He says looking off into the distance

  "But thats not aalways true she could still be in grave danger and since she does not know anything how is she able to protect herself?" I say still not getting it.

  "She wont and I know that which is where you come in, I want you to protect her." He murmers finally looking at me though I wish he had not  I could see how worried he was and I knew I would not be able to refuse.

  "Alright" I sigh in defeat "I dont like being around humans, but for you I will protect her. Now how exactly will I go about this?"

  "You will be her roomate the way you watch out for her is up to you, you can befriend her or you can not just as long as she's kept safe" he explains.

   "Ok so when do I leave?" I ask
  
   "She is arriving tomarrow morning so we will transport you over tonight to get settled in." he says.  "remember she has no idea about any of this so dont slip up she is an adult now so the promise made to her mother is null but I would rather keep her out of this world."
