"Anyways. I hope that this won't be necessary. ", the young man said, putting the gun down and swiftly unloading it, letting the bullets clatter to the ground before tossing the revolver away, too.
Dean who, just like his father, was a firm believer in 'shoot first, ask questions later' followed this up by pulling out another gun and aiming it at the man that introduced himself as Dr Spencer Reid.
"Really? Another one?", Reid asked, not seeming intimidated in the slightest. He might look like a beanpole but the guy had some balls. Or a deathwish. Or both.
"Dean, put your gun down! He's telling the truth!", Bobby ordered, glancing down at the picture in his hand. He hadn't recognized the name because John had never told him the boy's full name but he had definitely seen the picture before. This was John's first born Spencer.
"What?", Dean asked, glancing over at Bobby, completely baffled.
"He's John's son. Your father told me about him. ", Bobby insisted before reaching out and pulling the gun out of Dean's hands himself. He could understand that this was a tough pill to swallow but he'd rather not have this end with a body on his porch.
"And you didn't tell us?", Dean asked, clearly feeling betrayal. Bobby thought that after the week they had Dean's capacity for betrayal was filled out, apparently not.
"I didn't think that it was relevant. ", Bobby admitted. He hadn't thought about the other kid in... decades. John always insisted that the mother wanted to raise him away from the hunters livestyle and as far as he knew John didn't have a big role in Spencer's life either. Him showing up here was something that Bobby would've never seen coming.
"So... Did he cheat on mom?", Dean asked but before Bobby could answer that question, Reid made his own presence known.
"Actually, no. I came before your mother. I'm older than you. I'm 36, you're 33.", The other man explained. It was sort of unnerving how neutral and calm he was being. He didn't look like the type that stared down the barrel of a gun so regularly that it didn't phase him anymore.
"How do you know that? ", Dean asked.
"I looked you up. I have to give it to you, tracking you down is pretty much impossible.", Dr Reid shrugged. It surely had to be a feat. Bobby couldn't even begin to imagine how he had pulled that off.
"How did you find us then?", Dean asked. He was clearly suspicious of the other man and Bobby couldn't fault him for that. His appearance here was pretty outlandish.
"Through 6 year old phone records.", Reid replied before gesturing at Bobby. "Yours, to be precise. ", he added.
"And why come here now? Something about this seems fishy to me.", Dean asked and Bobby could see him reach for the flask with holy water in the back pocket of his jeans. A split second later he splashed the water into Reid's face. The other man flinched a little but just as much as any human would when suddenly sprayed with water. No pain, no squirming, he only looked a little annoyed. Not a demon then.
"Okay... ", He mumbled, drying his face with the ends of his sleeves. "Holy water I suppose... That brings me right down to why I'm here.", He stated and Bobby's eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"You know about the supernatural?",he asked. He could still remember how John had told him that the supernatural was a tabu topic around Spencer when he was a kid. His mother wanted to raise him away from that. Later, as her schizophrenia got worse she started to spill more and more secrets and her focus on the supernatural seemed to worsen every time she saw John so John stopped visiting, trying to uphold the promise he made to keep this world a secret from Spencer.
