“How did you end up here?” He was tall, his hair was long and dark, mysterious waves that were pulled up and swooped into a bun. I must say, he wasn’t the type of guy I expected to see here. He seemed normal, he wasn’t talking to any voices inside his head or trying to cut himself with plastic knives. I didn’t know how to respond to him. I wasn’t good at making friends.

“I-i um… you won’t like me very much if I tell you.” He seemed to look threw me when I said this. Maybe I was the one looking threw him, I don’t remember looking at him when I spoke but I did feel his eyes piercing my skin. He spoke very lively when he responded. The piercing eyes turned into a warm beam.

“Of course I’ll like you! You do realize where you are don’t you? There are many stories here.” I finally looked up at him and saw his face, his greenish brown eyes and his soft smile. His light almost pale skin. He was beautiful. “If you tell me your story then I’ll tell you mine!” I was sceptical, did I really want to know why he was here? No. I was afraid that I would learn something I didn’t want to know.

“I never knew my parents, I was raised by my grandparents. Last year my grandfather passed away. My grandmother stopped working, she became really depressed, she never left the house, I left to get groceries and she would tell me where the money was…” He paid very close attention to what I had to say. He seemed genuinely interested in my story. It made me feel nice and warm. “...one day when I came home from the usual grocery run, my grandmother was sitting in my grandfather’s favorite rocking chair… she had a gun, in a box, on her lap. She told me that it was too heavy for her and she needed my help. She asked me to lift it and put it against her head. I did as I was told… she told me to put my finger on the trigger and press down. I did what I was told. I killed my grandmother. I stayed in that house for months. I stayed there, eating sugary cereal and watching cartoons, until the smell of my grandmothers rotting body got the attention of the neighbors, who called the police, who put me here” When he realized my story was over, he smiled at me.
