(y/n) jumped at the sound of the scream and started looking around, she questioned whether or not she should follow the direction of the scream and try to help whatever creature was in danger.. but she could be putting herself at risk- what if it was a predator hunting it's prey? She didn't want to end until being some creatures lunch- although she no longer cared about making her way to the campsite, she at the very least wanted to return home. She brushed off her pants and started gathering more berries until she heard yet another shrill scream.. She couldn't just sit back and listen to the creatures screaming, One scream, she could ignore, but if this was going to continue she'd have to help whatever was in danger.. she promised herself that if she heard a third scream, she'd intervene, though she was silently praying that they would just keep quiet.. sure enough, a couple minutes later she heard a high pitched whine and sighed, throwing the remaining berries in her hand on the ground and walking in the direction of the screams, the creature was further away than she anticipated, but she was still able to follow the sounds of it since it's pained whimpers continued.. finally she saw a patch of white inside one of the bushes, she moved it aside and saw a white horses tail, and a hoof caught in a bear trap.. she was in awe, and somewhat excited by her discovery.. she'd never seen a wild horse before, She pushed away some of the brush, moving some of the branches away from the horse and was shocked by her discovery..

There, lay a white, pristine centaur, collapsed onto the ground, probably from the pain of the bear trap caught on its hind leg, it had long white hair that made its way down to the bottom of its front hooves, and piercing gray eyes.. The creature was covered in scratches from the bush, a particularly large one on his cheek, that looked like it could scar if it wasn't treated, and white roses tangled in his hair, a whimper escaped its throat as it tried to back away from the human before him, clearly seeing her as a threat. (y/n)'s eyes were wide with awe

"Oh my god.... there's no way this is happening- holy shit-"

Sure, (y/n) was interested in mythology, but she never thought there was any chance that any of the creatures might be real,. But here he was- in the flesh.., or her- given the creatures hair length she couldn't tell, and she definitely wasn't going to look between its legs, She was shaken out of her trance when the creature let out another whimper, and finally, (y/n) realized she should actually try and help the creature instead of just gawking at it, after all it was probably some sort of crime of nature to let such a spectacular creature bleed out

"So fucking cool- um- anyways- you're going to need to stop screaming! You're going to attract wolves or cougars or something if you keep it up!"

She was panicking

"Alright.. I'm going to need you to wiggle your leg and your hoof if you can"

The creature just looked at her with a blank face

"Alright fine- I'll do it"

She lightly grabbed the creatures leg and started to gently shake it, making sure to move the hoof as well, the creature snorted in protest, occasional huffs leaving its lips, clearly disapproving of her actions, but she continued to move its leg

"It looks like you sill have circulation, and you don't seem to have any tendon or muscle damage"

She commented, not that it mattered much

"We're going to need to work quickly here- okay?"

She questioned, the creature merely scowled at her in response, a shaky breath escaping its lips

"Alright- there should be a piece of bent steel on this thing-"

She felt around for it before placing her hand around it, and with little difficulty,  found the second as well and grabbed on to that too

"Alright- I have the springs- I'm just going to squeeze them now- that should loosen the jaws of the trap"

The centaur seemed to somewhat understand what she was talking about and watched, waiting for her to do as she said.. she wasn't the strongest, so it all of her strength, which had gone down due to the lack of food supply, and squeezed as hard as she could

"Ngggggggh-"

She placed both her feet down on each side of the trap and squeezed, it took her a while but she eventually managed to loosen the jaws

"Quickly! Take your leg out! Before it snaps down again- one wrong move with the springs and it could snap down again!"

The centaur was intimidated by her demanding tone and lifted its leg out of the trap and quickly sprinted off

"Wait! I'm not done yet!"

But the creature was already gone.. she looked down in the bush again and there lay her bag,.. at least she now knew who the culprit was

"That son of a bitch-"

(y/n) murmured, stomping her foot into the grass, she lifted up her bag and draped it over her shoulder.. she was disappointed the creature ran away, this was sure to be the only time she'd have an experience with anything as jaw dropping and majestic as a centaur

"If only i'd noticed it sooner.. I could've applied the rubbing alcohol to his leg and cheek"

She murmured to herself, she then took the 'pet rock' out of her pocket and chucked it into the grass

"I don't need any good luck charms.. that's not what this is about- That's it, I'm going insane aren't I?"

She exclaimed, making her way back towards the raspberry bush so she could to fill her stomach

"I must be dying of dehydration aren't I- I'm hallucinating- I heard that's what happens when you go too long without water"

Of course, she was exadurating, she wasn't in any immediate danger, but she was terrified by her current situation, she'd never been in a situation like this before and didn't know how to react, she opened up her bag to see if anything was missing, and luckily for her- everything was there, though it seemed a chapstick had fallen out, though she was sure she'd be able to find it somewhere nearby eventually, and so- she started searching around the area, trying to find her chapstick, it wasn't anything she needed necessarily, but s figured it was a good way to pass the time, and thus, began her charade
