Changlings have always been feared by pony kind. Dastardly creatures who could feed on the loving emotions of Equestria. The changlings had bug like appearances with cobweb hair and wings of insects. The species had once lived among ponies taking their love and leaving them for dead. One day hope was lost when they were caught and driven out of their "homes" and sent to the bad lands. At the brink of extinction the changlings came with an idea on how to feed. They found out about the upcoming royal wedding and knew they could not miss the opportunity. After the incident at the event the changlings would soon be forgotten. Many believed they died on impact while others assumed they given up. Unknown to the world the changlings were still roaming the land more hungry than ever. Their ruler "Queen Chrysalis" kept away from her subjects to plan the next scheme. Days turned to years of failed thoughts and thrown out ideas. The Queen soon became depressed and gave up on her children knowing she could never find a way to feed them. One day one of her spies came back from the Crystal empire with news. A princess had been born to the empire and was known as the new beginning of Equestria. That very day the Queen came with an idea to repay her subjects with the most loving creature of all...A foal.

Crickets chirped loudly as the silver moonlight blanketed the empire turning the colorful crystal to shimmering grey. The night was peaceful and bright, full of love, full of wonder. A dark figure would obscure the perfect night with its strangled, lanky legs and cut horn. Its horn would glow a sickening green which took away the silvery glow of the moon. Magical green fog would soon come from the horn smothering the empire like clouds would a high up mountain. Sounds began to quiet as the sky darkened leaving the figure invisible on the sky. The palace had been heavily guarded to protect the new princess as she slept in her crib. The figure would land on the top balcony not stirring the fog that seeped inside. The horn would glow brighter this time revealing the face of the figure. Her hair was stringy and dark turquoise leaving one piece to hang freely on her face. She was tall and some how elegant with how she held her large steps into the palace. Where ever the mare went the fog followed and covered every inch of the halls. At the end of the hall was a large door that was protected by 4 guards who had fallen asleep. The green fog filled the guards lungs not stopping till the ponies were deep into dreams. The mare would push on the door using her horn for an eerie light which lit every shadow in the room. Once over the crib she saw it, a beautiful foal with silky pink fur and a curly mane. The mare would stick her sharp edges hooves into the crib carefully holding the foal in her fore arm letting the other keep her balance. The foal made no whine nor sniffle as the mare spread her cut wings and flew out of the palace with the foal wrapped in a dark green silken cloth.

The sun rose over the empire beating out the left over fog that loomed around corners. No birds sang, No breeze could be heard, and the clouds were laced with the nights dew giving them darker hues. A pink Alicorn would wake from her slumber to find it too quiet. She turned to find her husband still asleep and in some sort of dream. The Alicorn would grudgingly get up and silently walk towards the door at the end of the hall. Her eyes would widen when she found the guards asleep on the floor, green smoke coming from their nose and muzzle. She would gallop into the room and look over into the crib that would hold the young princess. No foal had rested there and the mattress was cold. The Alicorn would feel a lump in her throat as her quiet sobs turned to loud wails as she fell onto the crib. The white unicorn still asleep would jolt awake to the sounds of despair. He would gallop to the nursery to find his wife hanging over the edge of the crib crying. Once he saw why he could not help but join her. The ponies of the empire gathered under the palace as the unicorn and Alicorn spoke of what had happened. The empire soon became cold and the wind would quicken. The sky would darken and snow began to fall and the love and light of the empire vanished and let in the dark. Soon after, the unicorn head of the royal guard sent out thousands of troops on search parties across Equestria to find the lost princess. After a year of search hope was lost when no trace could be found. The empire soon disappeared from Equestria without warning. Without some pony to stand up to find the missing princess the empire would be lost. Forever.
