I was walking by myself quietly through the woods. It was almost as if things hadn't changed, the boys had never come into my life, and my step mother was still waiting for me at our house. I shivered, no; I told myself, don't think like that. They did come and they are still with me, and my step mother is gone she can't hurt me anymore. I tried to calm my nerves, walking through the woods by myself had always been an escape for me. Taking a deep breath I felt the sun shine on my face and heard birds tweeting and squirrels skittering around in the trees.

Suddenly I heard another noise, It wasn't from the animals playing around, or the trees creaking and swaying in the wind. Light footsteps were coming towards me; I would have missed them if I hadn't been paying attention. My steps sped on their own accord and I heard the footfall behind me increase. I suddenly felt a wave of bravery hit me; I stopped running and turned around facing the oncoming intruder.

I was almost face to face with Kota. He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck guiltily.

"Kota?" I was confused. Why hadn't he just called out for me?

 "Sorry." He mumbled.

“What were you doing? Why didn't you just call out?"  I asked. Kota looked down at his feet.

“I was hoping to sneak up and surprise you." He looked so sheepish that I giggled. He glanced up at me. “You’re not angry?"

 “Why would I be angry?"

 “I don't know...I" I cut him off.

"You just surprised me I thought you might be a stranger." I admitted feeling silly.

"I can't believe you heard me I was sure I was being quiet."

"You were, if I hadn't been paying attention I would have missed you." His guilty look was slowly fading when he suddenly gave me a reproachful look.

"Sang if you thought I was an intruder why didn't you run? Why did you stop and turn around!" It was my turn to look down with a guilty expression.

"I felt silly running away from something I couldn't see." He sighed and reached for my hand.

"I don't care if you think it’s silly. If you felt like someone was following you should have run to find someone, all right? Don't just turn around to face them on your own not unless you absolutely have too. You haven't had nearly enough self-defense training for that yet." He was so adamant, his eyes probing mine. I nodded feeling my breath catch in my throat from the look he was giving me. But then I remembered he had been the one who tried to scare me. I gave him a sly look.

"I'm surprised at you Kota." He backed away from me.

 "At me?"

"That was the kind of trick i expect from Luke or even Gabriel. But I suppose Luke would have been quiet enough I wouldn't have heard him." I teased him. He smiled showing me his white teeth and poked me in the side making me giggle.

A loud crack sliced through the air. I looked around confused as to where it came from when another cracking sound came from above us. I looked up just in time to see a tree crashing down about to topple me to the ground. Before it could Kota launched himself at me knocking me down hard against the hard earth. The wind had been knocked out of me and I couldn't catch my breath because Kota was on top of me. I had heard the tree crash to the ground right next to us.

I felt Kota's breathe coming quick on my face and it made me blush when I realized that he was lying on top of me.

“Kota." I got out still having trouble breathing. He realized this and sat up off me. My lungs filled with air as I breathed in deeply. Kota put his head in his hands hiding his face from me. "Kota are you hurt?" I touched his shoulders scared that the tree had gotten him.

"No I'm fine." But he didn't look up at me. “It’s just...Sang I can't!" He gasped out.

"Can't what?" He didn't answer me. I took another deep breath, "Kota look at me...please." He obeyed me and I saw in his eyes a look that almost broke my heart. "Tell me Kota." I pleaded. Suddenly he grasped my face in both hands and looked into my eyes. That's when I knew Kota had reached his breaking point

"Sang I feel like the universe is playing a cruel trick on me. It keeps trying to tear you away from me and I can't take it anymore! I need you! I won’t let this stupid world take you away from me!" The next thing I knew his lips were against mine meshing with mine as if they fit perfectly together. My heart skipped a beat and my whole body warmed from his kiss. Instead of pulling back he deepened the kiss pressing his lips harder against mine as if he was trying to mold himself to me. I didn't want it to stop; my hands wondered around his neck curling into his hair. My thumb traced circles across his skin behind his ear. I heard a low moan escape from the back of his throat before he pushed me on my back and hovered over me never breaking our kiss. My lungs ached for air but I couldn't pull away. I had never felt this close to any one and I needed it just as much as he did.

When he finally pulled away I felt the loss intensely I ached to pull him back to me. Our breaths mingled together. He bent his head into the crook of my shoulder as he whispered to me, "Sang I won’t let anything take you away from me. I think my heart would break if something happened to you. Stay with me forever."
