On Hazel's fourteenth birthday, Frank brought her to the open fields overlooking Camp Jupiter, and they spent the whole afternoon there, with Hazel riding Arion and Frank chasing them in horse form. When Frank tried to light the candle on her birthday cake, it rolled down the hill and he had to chase after it. Hazel, laughing, followed him and unlike all the times that she had unconsciously remembered Sammy and her previous life while she was with Frank, for once, she didn't look back.
