7 o'clock in the morning, the alarm clock rang for the third time. Luke woke with a bad headache. Luke searched for his phone and saw 4 missed calls from Sheryn. Luke checked the clock and he was shocked when he saw the time. He immediately stood up and felt dizzy because of the hangover. After having a coffee and taking some medicine, Luke felt better and started preparing.
Luke left, and as soon as Luke arrived, he saw Dylan standing in the corridor as if he was waiting for someone. Luke ignored Dylan and walked continuously. Dylan suddenly talked and said…
"Aren't you gonna greet your upperclassmen?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't notice you were there." Luke said without making any eye contact with Dylan.
Dylan got pissed off and came closer to Luke and whispered. "You should be aware of your surroundings next time."
"Okay, I'll get going now." Luke said.
Luke turned around and left. When Luke entered the class, everything seemed normal. Luke acted like he didn't care and sat on his chair. While the professor was teaching, three students walked on the corridor speaking loudly and said…
Student 1: "I heard the same freshman student cried and begged for Dylan."
Student 2: "Ugh! seriously, stop talking about him. I get the creeps everytime I hear something about him."
Student 3: "Yo seriously, is he really gay or what?"
Student 1: "He's probably gay."
Luke was shocked and saw his classmates staring deeply at him. Luke tried to act normal as if nothing's wrong. The bell rang for lunchtime. Luke headed to the campus cafeteria to buy a meal. While walking, Luke notices that everyone in the cafe was staring and glaring at him, whispering and talking about the rumors as if he wasn't there. Luke sat down, eating lonely at his table; suddenly, a couple of female students suddenly walked towards Luke and spilled a glass of drinks on Luke's head. The female students laughed so hard and said…
"You thought you had a chance to win upperclassmen Dylan by clinging and crying onto him? Hahaha! you should give up, you little piece of shit."
The female students left, while Dylan laughed so hard at the corner of the cafe. Luke couldn't hold his tears until it started to flow down. Luke stood up and immediately ran outside the cafe. Luke was very ashamed and rushed out of the cafe while his tears continuously flowed down through his chin until he ran onto another upperclassmen. They both fell on the ground and Luke didn't see the student's face he ran off to.
"Hey, are you alright?" The student asked with a gentle deep voice.
Luke answered while sobbing "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm sorry, I gotta go."
Luke immediately stood up and ran. The upperclassmen was shocked when he saw Luke's face, begging for help and full of shame. Luke was rushed off and hid at the gym's storage room until the classes were over. While hiding, Luke heard someone yelling. Luke felt so curious and peeked through the hole and saw Dylan holding a tall student by his collar and said…
"Dude, why did you help him?"
"I didn't do anything. I just asked him if he's alright and he said yes even though he doesn't look like he is fine."
"Ugh! forget it! You're pissing me off too."
Luke felt curious about the student who is Dylan's yelling at and said in his mind, "That voice sounds familiar."
The classes are over and Luke comes out of his hiding place to get his things and quickly runs off the school. Luke kept thinking who that student was. Sheryn saw Luke passing by their workplace, showing some down and negative expression. Sheryn was curious but she chose to let Luke be alone for a while. Many hours have passed, Sheryn got home and felt something was off with the atmosphere in their place. Sheryn knocked and came into Luke's room to check on him; she smelled the room reeks of alcohol and saw Luke crying and sleep talking saying something unclear with a raspy voice.
"What did I do wrong? Why are you doing this to me?"
