Ginger crept up behind the rabbit, which was involved with its tasty morsel of a newly grown plant. She made sure her tail didn't rustle up dead leaves. I

She leapt on the stunned rabbit and snapped it neck. She picked it up and proudly padded into the camp. It was the beginning of spring, life bounding freely through lush growth.

Drax and Telracs came bounding across the clearing, a smile spread on their faces.

"Wow! A rabbit." Telracs exclaimed.

Drax have Ginger a curt nod, "Well done."

Ginger dropped the rabbit at Telracs's paws and smiled.

Telracs gratefully took the rabbit and hopped into a tree, nomzing on its leg (yeah yeah 'nomzing' is in my vocabulary). The bright dawn light shone through the tall trees. Drax came up beside her.

"Why'd you give her the rabbit?" He demanded.

"'Cause you already had a mouse this morning." Ginger snapped half annoyed, half amused.

He purred and walked away. Ginger sped out into the forest, which was already alive with life. Taking a deep breath, she raced out into the woods, swerving to avoid trees.

She got to the river and lay on the rocks surrounding it. Yawning, she dozed off on the rocks.

Ginger jumped out of her slumber as freezing cold water splashed her face. She leapt to her paws and starred in astonishment at the cat who stood in front of her.

He had deep green eyes that that looked almost like pine needles. His pelt was a dark brown tabby. He smiled at her.

"My names Korbyn. Might I ask who you are?" He meowed deeply.

Ginger stuttered, "G-Ginger..."

He smiled warmly at her, "Nice to meet you, Ginger. I'd better be off. See you later."

Ginger just starred back at him while he bounded away across the river gracefully.

Her ears grew hot as he disappeared into the shrubs on the other side.

Why was she feeling this way?
