The Forbidden

Chapter 5

Its a sunny summers day. The sun is out and the waves are great. Grab your family and come by to the Sunny Beach Festival at Empire Main Street. Have a great a sunny day further and hope to see you there. The radio screeched at the sound of my alarm going off.

Last night was a blur I completely can't remember a thing after the talk with Jake. I only remember finishing the girl off and dumping her body into the fire before that I can't remember.

Fuck my head hurts. It feels like a ton of bricks were put on top of my head.

The door opens and a figure emerges from the dark hallway. "Sunshine sleepy head" Jake says "What time is it?" I asked "12:00 pm. Why?" He says.

"Fuck" I said pushing the cover off me and putting on my clothes along my bed side."What's wrong it's not like you should be anywhere" Jake says "Fuck fuck fuck. Fucking shit" I said before pulling up my jeans and putting on my sneakers while rushing into the bathroom almost tripping on the way. I grabbed my tooth brush and brushed my teeth and afterwards splashed my face with water. I rush back into the room spraying on some deodorant and fixing my hair into something less messy. "Dude calm down. Tell me what's wrong" Jake says while grabbing my wrist and pulling me away from the mirror or what's left of it from my last incident.
"Why are you in such a rush" he asked but with a more angry tone "I have to be down by docks before 12:00 pm and as you can see it's past that already" I said pulling myself away from his grip. "Why should you be there?" he says but with a confused look on his face "Since I have to keep my secret a secret, I have to help the community so whenever someone tries to make assumptions of me I would have the whole town as back up" I said slightly grinning "Well played. I see I taught you well" he says while petting an imaginary cat. I look at him with eyes wide deciding wether to be happy or angry for his comment. Instead I break into laughter and he soon follows my lead. We finally stop and head down stairs to the car.

We arrive at Empire Main Street and head towards the docks. We park in the parking lot and walk towards the lake house nearby the docks. The sun is really hot and I can feel the top of my head slightly burning from the suns rays but I chose to ignore it and walk further. We arrive by the front door, as I opened it, a blast of cold air hits me relieving my body from the burning sensation from the suns rays.

"Where have you been. I have been looking for you" says someone up from behind me standing in the hot sun sweating with a huge jag in the one hand and a crate of water bottles in the other. I take my shades slightly off hanging on the nip of my nose. "Hello to you too Fiona" I said smirking. "I have no time for your jokes Lockwood" she says pushing me towards the side so that she can place the things on the counter at the front desk. "There is always time for my jokes" I said moving towards her "Here take this and go hand them out for the people out there. Did I mention I hate kids" she says handing me a crate of ice cream bars. "Will do. How many people are out there" I asked slightly laughing cause of her irritating look she has on her face cause of the kids that make her angry.

Every year about this time our town has a festival to raise money for the big carnival at the end of the year and every year Fiona and I help out with controlling the kids and keeping them busy. "About more or less sixty to fifty people or at least children of the matter." she says rubbing her temples in anger. I walk out of the door and walk towards the children's park near the shore line. "ICE CREAM" the one boy shout and before I could react a swarm of children are around me sticking there hands up towards the crate. I lift the crate as high not that high since they were still small. "Ok ok. You guys will get. Everyone form one straight line." I said slightly shouting. before I could blink they were in one row, the last kid in the water.

After ten minutes I had the last ice cream bar to the last kid. He runs off and trips and slams his face in a little girls sand castle. The little girl bursts into tears and runs towards her dad and the boy's father appears and asks what happened and they had a argument about whose child's fault it was. While all this is happening I'm cracking myself with laughter struggling to breath and tears rolling down my face and fall on the ground holding my tummy that's now hurting from all the laughter but I can't find myself to stop.

While I'm laying on the sand laughing a figure appears in front of me blocking the sun from my face. I open my eyes wiping the tears from my face from all the laughing and adjust my eyes to the figure before me. I jump up dusting the sand off me. "Omg Kylle Lockwood is laughing. Is it the end off days" Star says covering her mouth and breaks into laughter. "It must be if you are here" I say giving her a smirk. She places her hand on her heart trying to make as if it's hurting "Ouch that hurts" she says. I start laughing at her childish way and she hits the side of my arm but did not do much harm towards me. "So why are you here, if I may ask" I say lifting my hands in defense and gave a smirk "I'm the new volunteer."
