Just stay quiet. You can do this, just don't make a sound.

She kept reassuring herself.

All of the screaming was just because of a big argument, that's all.

It was just so dark under her bed, and she couldn't really see a thing. She had to rely on her ears, and she did not like what she was hearing. The screams of her parents. As much as she wanted to believe that they were just arguing again, she simply didn't buy that.

*gunshot*

Brooklyn woke up in a hot sweat, somehow out of breath. That was her third nightmare that week, and she would always wake up right after the gunshot, and her curiosity often consumed her mornings. But not this morning.

An FBI special agent; her dream job ever since she was fifthteen years old, and little did she know, she would be attending her first day thirteen years later.

She rolled onto her side and peered at the clock that read:

5:59 am

Just in time...

With that thought, she leaned over and hit the off  button on her alarm. She couldn't bring herself to get up. Of course she was excited for her first day, but worry consumed her.

What if  the team doesn't like me?

She quickly pushed away that idea and finally got out of bed, grabbed her clothes that she set out the night before, and went into the bathroom. She changed into a black skirt, pairing it with a jade blouse that complimented her olive complexion. She immediately picked up a brush and began to comb her pitch black hair. She wanted to look professional and presentable, but not too done up.

After her hair was detangled, she clipped the front strands of her hair to the back of her hair and brought them into a small braid to finish it off.

Simple, but cute.

She shrugged, satisfied, and quickly brushed her teeth and applied mascara. She left the bathroom and grabbed her wallet and car keys, glancing at the time again;

6:30am

She was right on schedule, so she scurried to the exit of her apartment, yet she paused with her hand on the doorknob.

She took a deep breath

Today was going to be a good day

She smiled to herself and left her apartment with a feeling of newfound confidence and excitement.

Brooklyn pulled into a parking spot in front of the Quantico field office, exited her car, and began walking at a brisk pace. She did not want to be late on her first day.

"What's the rush?"

She spun around to find the source of this unfamiliar voice, and found herself face to face with a very attractive looking stranger. His dark brown hair and deep brown eyes matched his intimidating physique. He looked to be about 6'2, looming a good eight or so inches over her.

She finally spoke up

"First day, don't want to make a bad impression on my team and unit chief"

She finished off her sentence with a polite smile.

"Oh, I see. Who's your unit chief?" he questioned as he continued walking.

You matched his pace.

"Uh, Aaron Hotchner, if i'm remembering correctly"

He smirked and stuck out his hand.

"So you're our newest member? Welcome to the team, Agent Cosner"

Her face turned a bright shade of red as she took his hand and shook it firmly.

"Thank you sir, nice to officially meet you"

They reached the doors and he opened it for her

Handsome and a gentleman? Noted.

She politely nodded her head as a thank you

"The team should be right in here, I'll be in my office if you need me"

and with that, he headed up some stairs into his office, shutting the door behind him.
