~Link's P.O.V~
Link gazed at the princess as she chatted with Paya. It had only been a few days since they had defeated Ganon, so he was surprised the princess had let him outside. Zelda had been willing to do almost anything just to make sure Link was resting. Admittedly, he did not make it out of his clash with the calamity without wounds. That didn't mean he liked laying around inside when he could be doing something productive. However, he didn't want to upset Zelda, so he had done what she wanted him to- which was resting. Although, he worried about her. What if the Yiga had seen them when he took the princess to Kakariko? What other trouble would she get herself into? What if she pressed the wrong button on the Sheikah Slate and ended up on the other side of hyrule, scared and alone? What if.... What if he was being paranoid.... But he couldn't help it. It was in his nature to worry- especially about Zelda. He sighed, lowering his eyes.
Zelda's voice caught his attention.
"Link! What are you doing, standing over there and looking gloomy? Why don't you come over and talk to me?" Uh oh....
He swallowed nervously and slowly headed over to the two girls. Both Paya and Zelda were watching him closely. He wished they wouldn't. He knew it was because of his injuries, but it made him nervous. He hated being watched.
"Link...." Zelda didn't say what she was going to. She simply sighed. "M-Master Link...?" His eyes flicked over to Paya, and she shuffled her feet nervously. "Are you in pain still...? Or... Something.... E-Else...?" He shook his head slightly. Paya looked a little confused. He didn't have time to do anything else, as Zelda grabbed his hand and lead him away.
They were alone. "Please, Link" Zelda whimpered. "I know you don't like talking much but... Just, please, tell me what's wrong." He felt bad. The way she looked him in the eye and begged him to give her an answer broke his heart. She looked..... Desperate. "I just...." He tried to think of what to say. The way her face lit up when he began to speak told him there was no going back.
"I... Worry about you, Zelda. I worry a lot." Zelda blinked, tilting her head. "Worry...? As in?" He sighed. "I care about you, I care about what happens to you...." He said, slowly taking her hand and holding it close to his chest. Zelda blushed. "I... I can't lose you again, Zelda." Zelda was shocked. She could tell he meant every word. She smiled a little. "Oh Link, you poor thing. I promise, I'm not going anywhere." Zelda's reply had surprised him a little, but was reassuring all the same. "Oh, and, if it makes you feel any better..." She trailed off, grinning.
And then, she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. Zelda giggled when she saw his reaction.
His face turned red, and he made a surprised little noise. "Don't worry, my hero~" Zelda whispered, just before running off, leaving Link a blushing mess.
