Chapter 7 (£)

  "Guys!" Diego bursts into the living room, panting. You look up from your homework and see Diego, his entire forehead covered in sweat.

  "What's wrong?" Allison stands up. "There's a shooting a few blocks away! We've got to hurry." Diego explains. You immediately throw your homework on the floor (thank goodness you had an excuse to do so) and everyone heads for the door.

  "What about him?" Vanya points at Klaus. Klaus is writhing on the floor, trying to dance but too high to do it properly.

  Luther sighs and says, "It's safest to leave him here."

  You arrive at the shooting and you see a band of robbers threatening citizens with their guns, forcing them to give them everything valuable. "Shit," Five says as he sees a few citizens huddled around a bleeding kid. Luther roars and gets into action, and you and the others follow him.

  You become invisible and pull a gun away from one of the robbers. He looks, confused, as the gun gets smashed by a floating brick. Allison rumours a robber. He immediately drops his gun to the ground and walks toward the direction of the nearest police station.

  You look up from the smashed gun just in time to see a robber behind Five, who is fighting another robber. You run up to Five as the robber fires his gun.

  "Bang!" The sound of the gun firing makes you crash into Five, who was pushing the robber in Luther's direction. He turns and pulls you up. "You okay?" He frowns. You nod and he runs off to help Diego. The robber who fired the gun was nowhere to be seen. You put a hand to your abdomen. You realise your hand is covered in blood. You suddenly feel a gushing wave of pain as  you recover from the shock of the bullet firing into you. You force yourself to stand up and you bite your lip. You didn't want anyone to know that you'd been shot.

  Luther finally finishes beating up the last robber as you hear the wailing of a police siren. Luther signals for all of you to go and you walk back wearily. Your wound is dripping blood now, so you press your bloody hand to it and hide it with your jacket.

  After a painful walk back to the academy which seemingly toiled on forever, you file into the doors of the academy.

  You feel yourself fall as your hand lets go of your wound.

  "Shit!" Five shouts as your legs give way. He spatial jumps beside you and catches you before you fall.

  Vanya gasps as your jacket moves and reveals your wound. 

  Five clutches you in his hands. "Don't worry you're gonna be okay." He says softly.

  Diego pulls you out of Five's arms and runs up the stairs at amazing speed. Or at least an amazing speed for a man carrying a limp, almost lifeless girl. "Mom!" He shouts. "MOM!" 

  Grace appears and helps Diego put you down on the counter. She gets to work, pulling on gloves and disinfecting your wound. The excruciating pain of the alcohol seeping into your wound causes you to groan. It was painful enough to make you scream, but you were too weak to do that.

  Five appears and holds your hand. "It's gonna be okay, I promise," he says as you groan again. The blood was seeping out and you see it dripping on the floor.

  Then all goes black.
