Omkara's POV
As soon as I reached hospital, I was feeling nervous. My heartbeats were fast. I had heard on call from the police about the accident being bad.
I knew something bad was going to happen my six sense was indicating danger. When I entered in Vardhan uncle's room.
I saw him connected to so many wires, maybe I'm the one who is responsible for his this situation. I hope he will get well soon.
He looked so fragile, so lifeless. I Gulped and sat near to him on the chair.
Maybe because of my movement he got disturbed, he looked at me. He had tears in his eyes. I felt so vulnerable at that moment seeing him, this situation was so tough I can't even imagine what must be his state.
"Uncle" I said not knowing what to say.
"Om baba" he said in whisper.
I held his hand in mine.
"Baba, if something happens to me please take care of my daughter. She is all I have please. You are the only one whom I can trust" he said with tears in his eyes
"Nothing will happen to you" I said.
"Please Om baba, promise me you will do this for me" he looked so broken.
"I..I promise" I replied.
I tried my best to save him but I couldn't, after two days being on ventilator, he was gone leaving me with the guilt.
I shouldn't had send him office for files, he was on leave but when I called him and asked for his help he quickly left for office and brought the file to my home, while returning back don't know how this happened, A truck hit his car.
I have heard about his daughter Gauri from him. She was his only family. She has mild mental retardation. He had couple of Times shared about the difficulties he felt while taking care of her alone.
I had seen Gauri in hospital crying badly, though she was only 16years but she seemed more younger.
She didn't seem in State to complete her father's last rights, so I did his last rights. He was like father for me, dad was so close to him.
After completing the last rights, I ask Gauri to come with me, she simply obeyed.
She didn't ask or say anything. She was silent and maybe scared.
When I walked in home with her, chotti Maa looked at me with surprise after noticing Gauri with me, I asked the staff to keep her luggage in guest room, I didn't say a word to chotti Maa.
I took Gauri with me in guest room and showed her room.
"If you need anything, just call me"
she didn't even acknowledged my words.
I left her and walked out.
Her situation is even more worse then mine. I had lost my parents at young age too but I knew the world and I was capable to take care of myself.
I talked with chotte Maa Papa and informed about Gauri living with us and about her mental state whatever I knew. They heard me silently though they seemed reluctant but didn't object.
