Chapter 2 : Finally being friends

"Can you believe Surendra she is from the same field and she has a good sense of humor, if everything turns right I'll ask her out., here you go Preet you wanted an example of how to build conversation here you go " "You talked with her so much how can I go through so much of this, leave I got an idea how to text and approach anyways thanks Pratik. Oh, she texted you something, here you go Pratik. " " So how was your day Nitika? , to which she described in a small paragraph. Pratik used to always note small details about her, and day by day he was falling for her or was he not or all this was just a teaching for Preet about how to text, there were mixed feelings as he didn't want to repeat the same mistakes of the past, but day by day he was getting more lenient will this be helpful has he found love of his life or this is just a teaching like all others. 

"Hey Surendra there might be a problem, she seems taller than me as per the pictures she has uploaded, what should I do if she is taller ?"  Surendra started laughing after listening to to this and said " I do agree she does look taller, but does it even matter to you? You are saying as if you are gonna meet this girl, you just talk with girls and never meet them ."  "Well yes you are correct why am I overthinking over this"( was Pratik hiding something from his friends is he gonna ask her out?). 

Days past both of them came to know about each other more and more after some days. They started to know each other more than before and they knew each other's choices for food, places, future goals and other, etc. Even Nitika was getting more comfortable with him and they were developing a bond which deepening its roots in their lives, was this a new beginning for a new chapter in both of their lives? Days started turning into weeks and both of them texted each other from morning to night.

 So one day Pratik deliberately asked, "So much percentage have I cleared Nitika?"
She replied," I think you have completed around 10% ". " What with shocking emojis asked Pratik just 10% . "Lol, Yes you are right merely you managed to complete 10% " replied Nitika . "But at least I'm making some progress so I'm not worried about a true gamer who never gives up no matter how the difficult the game is and life is the biggest game. And clearing 10% is a big positive jump for me."  "Hahaha you are right" was the reply received from her, and they started with their daily conversation pattern. 

Suddenly there came a thought in Nitika's mind, "This guy seems a good one maybe he is a keeper shall I share my number with him, now seems the right time, it's almost been a month since I've been talking to him and he doesn't seem to have any bad intentions yet, anyways if I find something fishy I can anyways block him from everywhere .", Nitika exchanged her phone number with Pratik. He rejoiced and instantly sent her an SMS, "Hey Pratik here save my number". He got a weird reply "Who's this? and why are you texting me ?" Pratik got shocked and wondered what was this reply about is this a fake account, is someone pranking me, so many thoughts rushed through his mind, he received a call from the same number, and now he thought what if this someone else not Nitika, later he said Fuck it I will receive this call and speak. "Hello? Who's this ?" he received the call in a very confident way, but there was no response," Hello Is anyone there on the line ?"  then finally he got the response "First of all I should be asking you questions why did you send me an SMS ?" Pratik did get scared but it was a female voice so his doubt about talking to a fake person got eliminated now he had to deal with this phone call he immediately replied: "Actually it seems there is a misunderstanding my friend did share this number, here name is Nitika so I might mistype while saving the number, I'm sorry for sending you an SMS, do not worry  you will not receive any calls or texts from now by my end ."

"HUH when did I say I did not like that you have texted I just asked who are you that's it, I never said that II wasangry  at you or something like that ." Pratik surprisingly replied, "I'm sorry but I cannot talk to you as I do not know you and it seems a mistake from my end please I do not wish to talk to someone on a phone call whom I do not know ." " Oh is it so then why did you text me on Instagram, and say that you will clear all the levels you are a true gamer and a gamer does not quit easily is that what you said  ?" Pratik got confused he took a pause and asked "I'm not able to understand what is going on ?, and who are you? " " Dumbo the number which you got  was the right number it's me, Nitika, I was just  pulling your leg, well I did not expect you to be this dumb Pratik ."  "WTF you got me here I got scared like whose number was it that you shared with me, I even thought other things, but leave I'm really happy to hear that it's you only with whom I'm speaking."  " What did you think in the first place tell me, tell me fast come on speak up buddy I'm waiting for your response "  " Nothing that serious but please do not mind me, you promised me that you would not take it seriously, I'm an overthinker and I do have that tendency to think a lot so sometimes I do think negatively as well, so I'm sorry in advance ."That's fine I do not mind anyways, I promise you that I will not get mad at you now stop building the curiosity and let me know what were you thinking?" " Nitika to be honest I thought this was a fake account and someone was just trying to prank me, but after hearing your voice, I thought something was not right am I being fooled? , but I had no idea it was you only, and also my stupid brain never thought you'd be pranking me instead " Pratik answered this in a very low and apologetic voice, " How could you do this to me, how Pratik answer me, how speaking to me for so many days you couldn't understand that I'm real person, you were expecting this reply am I right ?; Chill Pratik I completely understand and   you seem to have a lot of trust issues, I can relate that  and it is okay and I'm sorry I shouldn't have pranked you in a very first place, so I'M SORRY PRATIK" " Hey stop it Nitika you do not need to apologize for this silly things, we both were wrong and we should forgive each other simple as that, and say how is your day going on ?" With this they finally became friends and they took it to another level as the days passed they spoke to each other more on calls as compared to text.


How will they proceed further, even Nitika said she can relate to the trust issues that Pratik is facing, so how can she relate to him does this mean even she has trust issues, and why in the very first place does Pratik have trust issues what lead him to be a person like what did he exactly face in his past to become such kind of person?


So the texting turned into calling and soon they started video calling, finally they each other virtually but it was a live video chat. They even started singing each other songs, the bond they shared was becoming precious to them, and without even realizing they were getting attached was this a good thing or a bad thing, they didn't know they were just going with the flow and letting things be the way they are. Nitika sang one verse of the famous song 'Lag Ja Gale' - By Lata Mangeshkar, to which Pratik replied reply singing the next verse, their friendship grew day by day and they were becoming closer to each other.


Finally, Pratik Cleared all the stages it seems and he is going to ask her out what will be the result of this, will she agree to meet him or does she need a little bit more time and trust before meeting him?
