A/N: This is all written in the present tense because that's how I prefer to write at the moment. Also if any emojis don't appear for you, no worries! They're just hearts.
Much love, Krissy

From the day that Justin Laboy walked into the school, I decided on friendship. He was sweet and funny, and very, very smart. If I was the queen of academics, he would be the king. He always teases me for that analogy. What an ass. An ass I'm in love with. Wait, that sounds weird...
How about I take you back to the day we met? Sound good? Too bad, we're going back anyway.
I bump my hip against my locker to knock it shut, shuffling my hold on the books in my arms so that I can look at my phone. I can see a text message from my best friend, Ashleign, and I grin as I open it.
Ashy ❤️❤️❤️
> Yo did you hear we got a transfer student from New York?
I immediately text her back.
Me
> Yo fr? Any idea who they are?
Ashy ❤️❤️❤️ is typing...
Ashy ❤️❤️❤️
> I think I heard it was a guy coming into our grade
Before I can finish typing my response, I run straight into someone, knowing them over. My head shoots up and I stuff my phone in my pocket.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I should've been paying attention. Are you okay?" I ask, looking down at them. It's a boy with long curls and freckles. He's pretty cute. I'm shocked I've never seen him before. He looks up at me and smiles.
"Nah, it's okay. I should've been watching where I was going too," he says, starting to gather his things from the floor. I crouch down and help him, noticing a printed schedule amongst his things.
"You a Freshman?" I ask, handing him the schedule and straightening up. I hold out my hand, which he takes gratefully and I pull him up.
"A transfer actually. From New York," he says. Ah, of course. Makes sense why I haven't seen him before. I smile at him.
"Well, welcome to Park Vista! I'm Rebecca Nalt! You'll hear some people call me Becky, but I prefer Becca," I say, offering my hand for him to shake. He grins at me and shakes my hand.
"Justin Laboy," he says. I raise an eyebrow and he rolls his eyes.
"Don't even start. Believe me, I get it a lot," he says. I laugh at that before pointing down at his schedule.
"So what class do you have first?" I ask. He checks.
"Well, I was trying to find my locker first, but then I'm going to English," he says. I grin.
"Well, I'll help you find your locker, and then I can walk with you to English. It's my first class too," I say. He throws me a blinding smile of appreciation, and I move to look down at his schedule and see his locker number.
"You're in luck. Your locker is right next to mine," I say. I bump his hip with mine before leading the way back to my locker. I open the locker directly next to it on the left.
"Your locker, good sir," I say. He laughs and sticks several of his belongings inside, before shutting it. A bell rings.
"Shoot! That's the one minute bell. Hope you didn't need to use the bathroom, because we've gotta go!" I cry, grabbing his wrist and pulling him down the hall toward English. Of course there's a staircase in the way, but we manage to get into class with ten seconds to spare, albeit panting. I walk over to my seat and flop down.
