Akaashi sat onto the bench in the corner of the courts walls. He fidgeted with his long fingers, shaking a bit. He sighed and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. It was then he felt someone slip their hands in between his.

"y/n?"

Akaashi said under his breath, trying to keep a steady tone. He looked up at you

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm—"

"No you aren't, I know you."

y/n sat down next to Akaashi, your fingers now fidgeting with his. Your hand was a little smaller than his, but somehow your hands fit into his perfectly.

"What are you worried about, Keiji?"

y/n looked over her shoulder to see Akaashi looking down at the ground, it was obvious he was holding something back. y/n nudged his shoulder, making him glance over at her.

"I'm your girlfriend, you could tell me anything.."

y/n then smiled at the dark haired boy, causing Keiji to smile to. Oh how her smile was contagious, so bright; when did he become so lucky? Akaashi let out a small laugh

"I'm just a bit nervous about tomorrow's game.."

The blue-green eyed boy finally admitted.

"Keiji, you have absolutely nothing to worry about!"

y/n dragged Akaashi's hand up. Akaashi's face was now looking directly into her eyes. He glanced at their hands. y/n was holding there hands up together, but fingers werent intertwined. The inside of their hands resting their weight in one another's. The boy sat, confused of what she was doing.

"Look how our hands naturally put our weigh in each other's, that's like your team, like Fukurodani."

Akaashi narrowed his eyes a little bit, still confused. The girl smiled yet again.

"Now if I stop holding my hand up, your hand collapses, not having anything to put its weight on."

y/n stoped holding their hands together, and as the girl said, his hand collapsed, not having anything to put its weight on.

"See. This is just like your team. Volleyball is a team sport, you need each other to win, just like our hands need each other to stay up. It isn't your fault if you guys aren't doing well, it's a team effort."

y/n once again picked up Akaashi's hand, holding it in the same position as before.

"So, when your hand slips, my hand will catch yours. Just like if you fall, your team will pick you back up."

It finally made sense to Keiji. She tried doing a connection. Akaashi chuckled a bit.

"Hey! That was a good one!"

"Well now I just wanna hold your hand."

y/n stopped talking, her eyes widened and her cheeks tinted a dark shade of pink. Akaashi finally intertwined their fingers together. All that time, y/n didn't realize how soft and warm Akaashi's hands were.

Akaashi noticed and used his index finger to lift y/n's head up, then rested his thumb on top of her chin. He held y/n's hand down and kissed y/n's soft lips. It was a long gentle kiss, leaving y/n a blushing mess.

"Did that just happen or am I dreaming—?"

Akaashi let out a laugh again. No one made him laugh as much as y/n. Akaashi and y/n stopped laughing and looked into each other's eyes. y/n's e/c eyes glistened from the gym lights. Akaashi loved everything about her. Her h/l h/c hair, her lovely e/c eyes, her motivating comments, her gentle touch— everything. She really was, in his eyes, perfect.

"y/n.. you're gorgeous."

y/n tucked her hair behind her ear. She blushed just a bit, she didn't really know how to take compliments.

"You're okay.."

"Just okay?"

"ajajajaja! You know what I mean."

Akaashi suddenly pulled her into a hug, y/n once again widening her eyes. She hugged back, her head resting on his shoulder; Akaashi's chin resting on hers.

"I love you, y/n l/n."

y/n smiled.

"I love you too, Akaashi Keiji."

They hugged in that position for a while, neither of them wanting to let go.. just drowning in each other's
