Maliya was 12 when her father died. Her mother tried to make the best out of the situation but, often times failed. Her mother had a minimum wage job. She had a hard time providing for Maliya.
One day, Maliya's mom met a man. He later became Maliya's stepdad. Everything was going good from here but Maliya still misssd her father. She wanted to be next to him so badly.
Over the years, Maliya often got in trouble due to the anger from the absence of her father. She would get into fights and would neglect her school work. Her mother tried her best to contain it but Maliya wouldn't listen. She was in desperate need for a change.
Now that Maliya is 15, her mother thought that she has changed her ways and is no longer a problem but she was uncertain. Her stepdad got a job offer that was too good to pass up. With that being said they decided to move to Seattle. This is where Maliya would start her new life.
