My heart's beat was out of control. I waved my head frantically side to side, but all I could see was darkness. I felt as if I was falling. Was I? I had no idea. But, all of a sudden, I heard their voices. "What an useless girl you are. Go DIE!" I felt a tear flow down my cheek. I, then, had no reason to be afraid of the darkness that was swallowing me. I closed my eyes to only enter into another world of darkness.
By the time I opened them again, I was laying on my back. I felt a cold wetness surrounding me. I immediately heard splashing. I lifted my head to see the most horrifying sight I ever saw. A giant doll(?)was fighting a seemingly ordinary boy. He looked about in his teens. I guess he saw my movement because he turn to face in my direction when the giant thing whapped him down. "Why don't you just die already, you stupid piece of trash!" The boy screamed at the giant as he got up. "Hey you!! I know you are awake!! I saw you move! So come the hell over here and help me!!" The boy turn to face me. "I'll only make it worse. I'm useless." I replied. "Oh is that so? Well, I want to see how useless you are then." the boy hollered back to me. "No. I'll end up killing the both of us. It's not worth it. Just leave me to die and save yourself." The boy looked at me with a look of disbelief. "Save myself? Save MYSELF?!?! I have no reason to live without you!! I need you!" His words hit my soul with a warm, comforting embrace that I never felt before. This person, this Boy, needed me. He had no reason to LIVE without me. I stood up. I didn't want the giant thing to take that feeling away from me. "What do you want me to do?!!!!" "Distract him!!" "Ok! HEY YOU, YOU'RE FORGETTING SOMETHING!!!" The giant turned to face me. It started to lunge at me. I closed my eyes and turned away. Then I heard a weird sound. I turned to see that the thing had disappeared. "Wha......What just happened?" I asked the boy. "I just killed that stupid chain. Why?" "Chain?" "Yeah. Chain. Do you not know what a chain is?" The boy looked at me with concern. "No. Should I?" "DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE YOU ARE?!?!" The boy exploded. "No. Should I?" "Arg. Looks like we'll be talking for awhile. Anyways, you're in the Abyss. Do you know what that is?." "Isn't it a prison?" "Kinda. Look we don't have time for this. You want to get out of here, right?" "I don't know. If it means that I have to leave you, then no." "What?" "You heard me. I don't want to lose you. You said you that need me to live, right? I never have had anybody ever need me to live. It's makes me........not so sad to have a reason to be alive. Thank You." I hugged him. He blushed. "Yeah, sure. Your welcome. Anyhow, please call me by my name, Rent." "Okay, Rent."
