Chapter 1: The Move

I never in a million years thought I would meet the love of my life at a party in LA, but I did. Deciding to leave my home town and follow my dreams to LA was the best decision I ever made.

Hi, my name is Bailey. This is the story of how I met my husband at 19 years old.

"Bailey, wake up!" My mom yelled up the stairs, "You're going to miss your flight!"

"I am awake," I yelled back down, "I will be ready to go in 5 minutes."

Today is the day I am moving to LA. Me and my three closest friends, Sam, Emily, and Amber. They are amazing but we never get to spend time together. We all live in different states. Sam is in Texas, Emily is in Georgia, Amber is in Illinois, and I am in Tennessee. Today we are all moving to California.

I know what you're thinking...How are they your closest friends when you all live in different states?

Well the answer to that is actually very simple, social media. We met on TikTok. We follow the same group, the DreamLA Team. It truly is amazing what social media can do.

If you know the DreamLA Team you know that there are 4 guys that make up the talent/creators of the team. Tyler Schrage, Bryan Williams, Chris Williams, and Tristan Blane. Yes, Bryan and Chris are brothers.

After messaging back and forth on TikTok and trying to keep up with 3 different conversations we decided to make an Instagram group chat. From there everything just clicked. We became best friends. After 3 months  we all made the decision to move to California and make all of our dreams come true.

All my stuff is packed. I am ready.

We drive to the airport.

"Bailey, honey, are you sure you want to do this?" My mom asked in her concerned mom voice.

"Yes, mom, I am. It's time for me to make all my dreams come true." I reassured her.

I walk through the gate and just before I get on the plane I turn back and wave goodbye. I see my mom waving back at me with a smile on her face but I can see the tears in her eyes. I know how hard it is for her to let me go. I turn back, take a deep breath, and step onto the plane.

The flight is going to take about 7 - 8 hours. I sit back and relax. I fell asleep 2 hours in.

After the plane lands, I get my bags. I see Sam and Emily waiting for me. They landed 20 minutes before me.

We get an uber to our new home in Glendale.

We saved up enough money to cover our first months rent and utilities. Our families are helping with food and furniture.

Amber is already at the house. She got there 3 days ago. She met with the landlord and got all the utilities turned on.

As we pull up to the house we see a car in the driveway. It's not Amber's, she does not have one.

I pay the uber and we head into our new home.

"Amber, who is this?" Sam asks when we walk in.

"This is Heidi, she lives up the street." Answered Amber.

"Are these the friends you were telling me about?" Heidi asks.

"Yeah. This is Sam, Emily, and Bailey." Amber says as we shake Heidi's hand.

"OK. It is so nice to finally meet you guys. I will see you all tonight, right?" Heidi asked as she started walking to the door.

"Yes, we will be there. 9pm right?" Amber responded.

"That's right 9pm. Dress cute, there are people I want you to meet." She says as she walks out the door.

"Um, Amber, what was that about?" I asked after Heidi was gone.

"We have been invited to a party." Amber answered.
