"Again!" I said gasping for air as my best friend walked over to his iPod to press play. I'm normally a terrible dancer but he had taught me so well I almost had the entire dance number down. All that was stopping me was the last part. I envisioned the last steps as the music began to play and we both began to step to the beat. As the end neared he came closer to me and really put his whole body into the moves. His eyes watched my legs as if willing me to get it right. It must have been those exaggerated movements because this time I nailed it. "I did it!" I shouted as I dropped down on the studio floor and tried to catch my breath. My best friend laid next to me so that we were head to head. "I did it" I whispered again huffing. He looked at me and smiled. Something was off though. I knew his smile. This wasn't it. "Hobie what's wrong?" "Nothing....congratulations." he panted as he wiped the sweat from his forehead with his arm.
I had known Jung Hoseok for years. I met him and the rest of the guys when I did a school sponsored internship for bighit's secretarial position. I was trying to find my way to the copy room on my first day when i accidentally walked in on their dance practice. I was a fan so I had a mental fangirl moment and stood there frozen in shock. It was Hobie who finally noticed me standing there. He paused the music and came up to me. "Are you ok? Do you need help?" he asked but I couldn't speak. My eyes were glued on my ultimate bias! Finally Hobie waved a hand in my face breaking my trance. I snapped out of it, totally embarrassed. My hands flew to my face....omg my mouth was open the whole time! What if I drooled!! Luckily I didn't feel any. "Are you ok?" hobie asked again with true concern. All the guys eyes were on me. I glanced at my ub one more time before finally answering. "I'm sorry...I was just looking for the copy room" I squeaked. I could feel my cheeks turning bright red as I looked down. Hobie gave me a bright smile. "I can show you." he volunteered as he turned to the others and told them he would be right back. "So when did you start?" he asked, breaking the awkward silence as we walked down the hall. "T...Today" I stuttered. How much more embarrassing could I get today? As we reached the room he opened the door for me. "Well it was nice to meet you......" he left the end of the sentence open like a question. he waited for my name as he held out his hand to shake mine. I mentally smacked myself for being so rude. I took his hand and bowed introducing myself. "Well I look forward to seeing you around" he smiled warmly again before turning to leave. After that day, every time he saw me in the hallways he would call out my name and wave. It was cute. I really didn't think he would remember my name. I was carrying a heavy stack of boxes down the hall to my bosses office one day when someone took the boxes from my hands. I looked around to see who had taken them when I saw hobie's face peek around the stack. He grinned at me. "You looked like you could use some help" I quickly tried to take them back. What if he got hurt while carrying them?! I would feel terrible and my boss would kill me! "I can get it!" I said as I reached out to take them back. He twisted away moving the boxes out of my reach and put on a pout. "Does my new friend not think I'm strong enough to carry these?" "friend?" I asked shocked at,his declaration. "Yea!...why? Do you not want to be friends?" he asked as his smile faded. I grinned. I never thought I would get to meet a member of my favorite group, let alone be friends with one. "Friends" I said again more confidently. "I'd like that" "great! You want to come over and hang out tonight? You can meet the other guys!" I began to fidget. I could barely contain my excitement. "Um...ok"
That was the day I became friends with all of the guys, but hobie and I were closest. We hung out all the time. I knew when he was lying. I looked over at him from where we were lying on the floor. I sat up and reached for my water bottle. "Seriously......what's wrong?" I asked after I gulped down half of the bottle. He sat up "you've been working really hard to learn this dance....why?" he asked. It might be an easy task for him or anyone else to learn the dance for fire....but I was terrible at dancing. Far worse than namjoon and Jin even. So for me it was a miracle that I finally nailed it. "Well ....you know I've been wanting to learn it for a while now." I said not wanting to tell him the real reason. The problem with being so close was that he knew me very well too. "Be honest....it's because of him isn't it" he turned to look me in the eyes.
