Abby slowly wakes, her preset alarms not needing to work today. She scrubs her face with a hand as if shes scrubbing the sleep from her body. And yet to no avail does it work. Your idea to start this early.... I know, today its important. You berate yourself over and over again for the early morning. Four days a week, shes up at 4:30 and starts to get everything ready.

This wasnt part of the plan, this wasnt what she thought this was going to be like. Falling in love, the house, the kids, the dog- Aero. This isnt what she figured life to be like. But here she is ten years later. But this, this should have been one year, should have been long enough for her to get settled. Then the transplant fell through and she said if it's meant to be it'll happen. Fast forward to now, and Abby cant help to smile regardless, lifes still good.

Abby's motions and actions are muscle memory more then anything- she pulls out two blood pads, two sets of needles, and one lone one, she pulls out the blue tourniquet band, next she pulls out gauze, tape, alcohol pads and the small bottle of heparin. "She clots to much while we run her, so from now on your going to have to administer 3mL of it in her arterial line before you connect her to the machine."

From there she sets up the side table with everything. One blue pad first, taped on both sides. Then she lays the larger set of needles down up top, two gauze lay bottom left, next to it on the right- the alchohol pads. Next to them four strips of tape, plus two skinny pieces for after she sticks her. Then she pulls the door open on the machine and turns it on. As she waits for it to load, she gets the saline bag ready and hanging.

"You know I can do this myself, or get someone to come in and help. I can even go back to in center."

"Its fine Raven, I can do this. I dont mind it. And plus I'm a doctor myself I can monitor you better."

Theres a quiet beat between the pair. "I dont want to hold you back, Abby. If you do this for me- then its months, years possibly until I can get another opportunity for a transplant."

"I know what the doctor said, I was there. I knew what I was getting into. I'm not backing down, I'm not leaving rae." Abby says as she looks up.

Abby just finished loading in the cartridge in and closes the door. She quickly gets through connecting the little air pod to the machine and then she untangles the lines before she connects it to the saline bag. Once its connected she hits the button to push fluid through everything. Next is the paper work.

"What do you need me to do?"

"Sit still and look pretty while I get everything ready."

"You think I'm pretty huh." Raven says with a smirk as she sees a blush on Abbys face.

"So do you like what time we get done-"

Shes a shameless flirt, and still manages to get you to blush after everything. She does it in a way where- after the encounter you dont feel sleazy and want to take a shower. But in away that you couldnt handle at first, but so wanted to continue. I mean how could you not, but theres a history there. She worked with your former husband, god rest his soul. Plus shes your daughter's friend as well as yours. But over time she became more. Then one day things hit the boiling point in her.

"Abby, just- damnit. Go on a date with me. Let me take you to dinner or a picnic. And if this isnt what you want or if I'm not it. Then we'll know and I'll back off and we can pretend that this never happened." Raven says as she runs a hand through her hair in a nervous way.
