When our glances locked in that door's reflection, I knew she was gonna be trouble. I also realized I didn't even ask her name.
The brunette turned my cheek with her fingers so I'd focus on her. "Why fawn over one who clearly didn't know what she was missing when you have one right here?
I remove her hand from my cheek. "The difference Carly is- "Carrie-" "The difference is not every man wants one ready and waiting to forget. Now, I'm sure you are just lovely. How about we walk this way, ahh yes, Cindy, see that gentleman in the booth?"
I lift my hand to the corner with the Tate brothers. They will be more than happy to accept Cathy... whatever her name is, advances.
"Walk over to that table and tell them Z sent you and another round will follow. I promise, you will thank your stars one day."
I wink at her as she sashays to their booth. Ryan Tate lifts his chin in thanks. I reciprocate and head to the bar. I send a round to their table and to the boys.
I can't believe that blonde was not interested at all.
"Boss, shouldn't you have at least one of the two beauties still attached to you?
"Jackson let Z alone. He's recovering from that awful crash and burn."
Check smiles, elbowing Jackson.
Derrick lets out a surprised laugh. "Since you find it funny even the best miss sometimes, I'd like you to work your magic.
"Sure, what do you need?
Check and Jackson wait for it. They know I will not be bested. Do I have to know why she was not interested? No. She will be soon.
"Find out when that blonde who just walked out the door is likely to return. Have Kelly call if she does. I'd like to not leave things to chance.
" Aaahhh okay boss."
Every day for last two weeks I find myself thinking about honey brown eyes, dark blonde hair and full lips that hold her sass. I've never really had a woman invade my mind like this. Ironically I don't even know her name or anything about her. It's pure infatuation. Derrick and Jackson seem to find it hysterical I devoted time to finding her.
Unfortunately as talented as Derrick and his team have been in the past, I've found as much about this woman as I have who was leaking information from my mother's company and my less than respectable businesses.
