I ran, ran as fast as I could; not looking back, not thinking about what will happen next just running. My breath was heavy and I started feeling light headed I decided to turn back to see if I saw him. No sign, so I stop and take a quick breath. I searched the area I was at and saw nothing, but trees, leaves and twigs.
" You okay?" A voice asked. I jumped and almost cried.
"Cody?"
"Yeah. I got away to help you." he said calmy. I threw myself in his arms and cried.
"Why didn't you stop him from raping me?!" I demanded. "I thought you loved me."
"Baby I'm sorry. But, we got to go he's getting closer by the second." We hustled to our feet and stayed hidden between trees. "The road is up ahead, be careful, I love you."
"Aren't you coming with me?"
"No, I have to go slow him down." He kissed me softly. "I'll be okay, promise."
