Chapter 1: Pilot

First day of being a kunoichi in training. I wonder how it’ll turn out to be. Of course, I won’t have my best friend, Naruto Uzumaki, with me since he failed the test. But what are you gonna do? I walked to the academy to see Naruto there.

“Good morning, [Y/N]!” he gave me his big warm earnest smile I’ve come to know and appreciate with my very being.

“Good morning, Naruto.” Then, my eyes fell onto the ninja headband that rested on his blonde hair. “You stole that or something?”

Naruto looked up at the headband. “Oh this?” I nodded. “I passed! Iruka-sensei told me I did and gave me this headband! Do you think I look cool with it on?”

We had started to walk to the classroom. “I still think you’re a dork, dweeb. With or without the headband.”

“You know if it was anyone else, I would take offence to that, but I don’t.” Naruto shrugged my statement off.

I smiled at him. I have known Naruto for the past four years now. We met at Ichiraku. At first, all Naruto talked to me about was ramen and I could not understand why everyone else hated him so badly. Sure he had the nine-tails in him, but he wasn’t the nine-tails. He was Naruto Uzumaki. I should be one of those people that understand that most of all/ And after that, we became fast friends. I would try to help him with his jutsu, but when it comes with natural talent, I can’t really help.

Naruto has asked me to help him countless times, but I have no idea how to explain it to the poor sap. Sorry, Naruto, but I’m not that exceptional in that department. The two of us made it into the classroom and picked out our seats.

We were early. My guess Naruto got up early to get here early because he was super excited about what the day meant to him.  I took a seat on the outside of the row next to Sasuke and pulled out a book (because I always seemed to carry a book).

“What are you doing here, Naruto? This isn’t for dropouts. You can’t be here unless you’ve graduated.” Shikamaru told him.

Naruto pointed to the ninja headband on his brow. “Oh, yeah. Do you see this? Open your eyes, Shikamaru. It’s a regulation headband. We’re gonna be training together. How do you like that?”

Shikamaru Nara sighed at that and went to sit somewhere else. And at that, the door burst open to reveal Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka standing there. Fighting as always. I sighed and went back to my book.

“Hi, Sakura. What’s up?” Naruto waved at the pink haired girl.

“Move it.” Sakura pushed the blonde boy out of her way. “Uh.. good morning, Sasuke.” I rolled my eyes at her. The exact same thing every single morning. “Mind if I sit next to you?”

“Back off, forehead. I’m sitting next to Sasuke.” Ino said, gripping Sakura’s arm.

“I walked into the classroom before you did. Everybody saw it.” Ino argued back.

Then a bunch of other girls started to swarm the two of them, arguing about who got to sit with Sasuke because of who was first. I honestly could not care in the slightest. I just wanted to read my book in peace. Not that anyone would give me the peace and quiet I needed and deserved.

“Idiots.” I muttered under my breath.

Naruto perched on the desk in front of Sasuke and glared at him. I could hear the girls in the background yelling at him for glaring at the Uchiha. The two glared into each other before someone bumped in Naruto. And the two boys kissed.

Their eyes widened and let go and started to gag and cough. I laughed at the two of them and their misfortune. And then Naruto turned to the girls who glared at him.

“Woah. It was an accident.” Naruto held his hands up in defense.

You should know by now Naruto that those girls don’t give a flying fuck about that when Sasuke is involved. But before anything could happen, Iruka-sensei walked into the room making the crowd disperse to their seats.

“As of today, you are all ninjas. To get here, you’ve faced difficult trials and hardships, but that’s nothing. What comes next will be far more difficult. Now, you are only genin, first level ninja. All the genin will be grouped into three man squads with one four man squad to balance it out. Each squad will be led by a jonin, an elite ninja.” Iruka-sensei explained.

“Well, someone has to be in Sasuke’s squad. I wonder who.” Ino said from behind us.

“I don’t know.” Sakura said before sending a glare towards the blonde behind her.

“We want each squad to have a balance of strength and abilities. So, that’s how we set them up. I will now announce the squads. Squad 7, [Y/N] [L/N], Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno,” Sakura grumbled while Naruto cheered. “Sasuke Uchiha.” Now it was reversed. “Next, squad 8. Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Unizuka, and Shino Aburame. Now squad 10, Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi. Those are all the squads.”

“Iruka-sensei, why does a great ninja like me have to be in the same group as a slug like Sasuke?” Sakura glared at the blonde.

“Sasuke had the best scores of all the graduating students. Naruto, you had the worst scores.” Everyone in the class laughed at him. I almost felt bad for the guy. Key word: almost. “To create a balanced group, we put the best student with the worst student.”

“Just make sure, you don’t get in my way, loser.” Sasuke told him.

“What did you say?” Naruto shouted at him.

“Hard of hearing?” Sasuke smirked towards the blonde.

“Knock it off, Naruto.” Sakura told him. “Sit down.”

“Ahem!” Iruka-sensei said. “After lunch, you will meet your new jonin teachers. Until then. Class dismissed.”

This is going to be one pain-in-the-ass group.

So first chapter of my Sasuke Uchiha x Reader. How was it? Now y'all should know me by now if you've read some of my other stuff, but I like crossovers. So, what other fandom will this crossover with? Got any theories? Any predictions? Don't forget to vote and comment!
