M/n Meets Blue Exorcist

Chapter 5

"Listen up, summer vacation is less than a month and a half away, but before the break, you'll take this year's Exwire/Esquire Authorization Exam."

"What?"

"It is a candidate in becoming an exorcist."

"Take in mind that once you're promoted to Exwire/Esquire, then you'll be subjected to more specialized combat training. The exam won't be easy to pass. Therefore... Next week we'll hold a week-long boot camp to prepare you for it."

"Boot camp?"

"Since attending the camp won't be mandatory, indicate if you'll be participating, as well as the meister, or title, that you'd like to acquire. Return the form in by Monday."

"A meister or a title?" Rin asked confused. 

He went to ask for help from Ryuji, Konenomaru, and Shima.

"What meister should I be?"

"Well, we could see if you could be a tamer in the next class. I am picking to be a Doctor. I don't have much knowledge of firearms, but I know how to do archery and knife throwing. Do you understand what the meisters are, Shiemi-san?"

"Um... no. Can you help me understand the terms?"

"Sure! There are 5 meisters in total. Dragoon, Knight, Aria, Tamer, and Doctor. A Dragoon is a meister who specialize in using firearms. A Knight is a meister who specialize in using a sword. An Aria is a meister who specialize in reciting passages from the bible and other sacred scripts. A Tamer is a meister who can summon a familiar and befriend he or she. A Doctor's job is obvious enough to understand what their job is."

"Okay, thank you M/n-kun."

Next, we went to Mr. Neuhaus's class. He was going to see if any of you have what it takes to become a tamer.

"Alright. I will now summon a demon. Watch your step. If the magic circle is broken, it will lose its effect. To summon a demon you will need a drop of your own blood and a suitable invocation. Son of Typhoeus and Echidna, hear my call and show yourself."

A naberius was summoned and it smelled. 

"Summoning a demon to use as a familiar is a rare trait. To tame a demon, you must have a strong willpower, having a natural talent is also valuable. Today is going to test you if any of you have this talent."

"A test."

"In the beginning of class, I gave you all a sheet of paper with a copy of a summoning circle. Place a drop of blood and chant whatever words come to mind."

"I humbly appeal to the goddess of Inari. Grant my request, leave not my prayers to the unfulfilled." Kamiki said summoning 2 white foxes or kitusunes. 

Foxes are associated with the god Inari. They are messengers and are usually white in color. 

Shiemi volunteered next and summoned a greenman. 

The rest failed or either gave up in thinking of summoning a familiar. 

Coming Monday, everyone went to the dorm the Okumura twins were staying at for the Boot Camp. 

"Good morning! Your class has arrived."

"Good morning everyone."

"Seriously, this place looks like something out a horror movie."

"Wow, it looks so creepy, and ugly. Was this the best place to do this? Oh, take it."

"Uh huh."

"I am surprised that you guys are allowed to live here by yourselves."

Later in the day, we took an exam.
