A/n: if you know what solanum is, I congratulate you. If not, it will be explained.
Erin
I heard a door being yanked open, so I went to investigate. I gasped. Inside the closet was an assortment of weapons. Blades, guns, explosives, you name it.
"Jordan, what are you doing?" I asked quietly.
"Solanum is a toxic chemical that kills in less than 24 hours, before reanimating the corpse. Essentially zombie gas. We need to get out of town. There's food rations, dry fruits, and wager I'm the lower cabinets in the kitchen. I would put those in the car, along with anything you brought to LA." He said quickly, all the while pulling out assorted weapons and equipment.
"But... Why do you have these?" I asked, gesturing to the storeroom of weapons.
He paused, "In case of this."30 mins later
"C'mon Boo! We have to go!" I called, picking up the last box of water.
"Ok! But where's daddy?" She called back.
"He's in the car already!"
After another five minutes, we got to the car.
Jordan ran up to me.
"Put this on your belt," he said, holding out a silenced Glock and holster.
"Dude, I'm wearing a dress," I told him. Before I finished my sentence, he had clipped a nylon combat belt around my waist, before threading the holster on.
"You should drive," he said, "I'll sit shotgun. Boo keep your head down."
"Where to?" I asked.
"Tucker's place. We'll pick them up before heading out of town.Halfway
"Alright, halfway there." I told Jordan. Then I saw them. The undead. While my mind was still wrapping it's head around the concept, Jordan leant out the window, shouldered a semi-automatic carbine, and began clearing the road ahead of us.
"Hurry," he said, "I hope they're alright. "The House
When we got there, it looked like it was too late. The windows were all broken, and blood spattered the walkway and lawn.
"No..." I whispered. I've never seen Jordan so void of emotion. He just stomped out of the car, leaving me with the carbine, and walked to the front door, knocking in a very strange pattern. Knock, knock knock, knock, knock knock knock. Then Sonja opened it immediately, as if waiting. Jordan made a few hand gestures and she disappeared from the door frame, only to bring back a shocked Tucker, and another box of food/water. Plus extra ammo and two pistols. Within seconds, they were in the car, and we changed our seating. Now Jordan drove, with Sonja in shotgun, while Tucker and I were in the back with Boo, who was surprisingly calm. Maybe cause she was playing games on my iPad.
"So what's happening?" I asked.
Sonja looked at Jordan,"You didn't tell her? She deserves to know." She said accusingly.
Jordan didn't even flinch. "Did you tell Tucker? No. You didn't." He then began to explain.
"Sonja and I and members of a government organization that is supposed to control urban outbreak situations like this."
