It was a wonderful day in Blue's AU. The sun shone bright and warm, the grass was lush with life, there were birds chirping loudly overhead, and the whole scene felt like it was out of a movie. Frisk was with Muffet, Carrot was at home relaxing, and Blue was at the Librarby, trying to finish a puzzle.
It had been about a week since he'd gotten his soul back after a near death experience and ever since then he had taken every chance possible to relax without having to worry about any danger. He was enjoying the time spent in peace while also being able to take a break from fighting for once. "Blue!" A voice called from behind him, causing him to stop and turn around only to see Dream. "What do you want?" Blue asked bluntly, not bothering to hide his annoyance. He had been perfectly content in his peaceful bubble until Dream interrupted his peace. Dream just gave him a small smile, "I just wanted to talk." He said. Blue sighed, giving up on his current attempt to get through his puzzle, which was getting increasingly harder due to his lack of focus. "Alright," He replied, gesturing for Dream to sit next to him and continue their conversation. As Dream sat down next to him, Blue could smell something sweet wafting from his clothes. Whatever it was it smelled absolutely divine. Blue looked over at Dream and saw that he had a bag of chips in his hands. "You're eating chips?" Blue questioned, raising an eyebrow at Dream. It wasn't as though Dream had never eaten before but he always seemed so put together, unlike Blue who would eat anything. "Yes? What does that have to do with anything?" Dream said confused. "Nothing! I'm just surprised to hear that you enjoy eating chips." Blue explained. It hadn't even occurred to him that food might be more appealing than a game or something. Dream shrugged, "It's better than nothing." he said simply.
"Besides, I have some of my own." With that statement Blue's stomach growled and he flushed slightly, embarrassed. Dream let out a small chuckle and reached into his pocket. He took out a pack of potato chips and handed one to Blue. "Here, it's your lucky day!" Dream said cheerfully, flashing a grin. Blue smiled, taking the chip and opening it. "Thanks Dream." he said, taking a bite of the delicious snack. After swallowing the mouthful he continued, "So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" "Oh right." Dream said before continuing, "We need to figure out what Nightmare and his Crew are up to and what their next before they do anything drastic." "Do you know anything?"
Blue shook his head no, "No, unfortunately." He paused for a moment before adding, "I haven't found anyone to go to about it either." "We're going to have to wait until they reveal themselves to us." Dream responded. "Hopefully, this won't last long." Blue nodded in agreement. While he didn't know much about them, he did know that Nightmare's Crew had some sort of plan going on. They kept things hidden and it was only recently that he'd heard rumors about them. "Is there anything else you want to discuss?" Dream asked. Blue thought for a moment before saying, "Not really, nothing else really came to mind." Dream smiled, seemingly satisfied by his response. After they finished their snacks Dream said goodbye and headed off home for the night. Blue watched Dream leave before returning to his puzzles. He knew there were people counting on him, but he still couldn't help but feel a little lonely sometimes. Blue had decided to call it a day when he noticed that the sky was already starting to darken. He packed up everything he needed before saying goodbye to the librarian and heading home. The walk to his house passed by slowly, with Blue staring at the ground in silence as he walked, lost in thought. Before he knew it he was standing outside of his door, letting himself inside. He set his backpack down on the kitchen counter before sitting down at the table. "Hey Blue!" Said Carrot. "How was your day?" Blue glanced up at Carrot before replying, "Fine, how was yours?" Carrot laughed, "Same old same old." They continued chatting idly about their days for the rest of the evening before they both bid each other a goodnight and went their separate ways. As Blue was falling asleep, he thought he saw a shadow move across his window.
With a small gasp, Blue shot upright in bed, eyes wide with fright. As his heart slowed down he realized that it was only a dream and that it was too early for someone to try and attack him. Relief swept through his body as he relaxed again, but his sleep deprived brain didn't forget the events of that nightmare.
