After years of planning it was finally ready. Duncan was ready to kill his rival. He had built a bunker, and filled it with explosives. He just had to trap Trevor. The two dragons had been fighting over the same female for decades, and Duncan was finally going to do something about it. He wanted Rain to be his.
He sent Trevor an invite to a friendly get together, to apologize for his past behavior. Trevor of course believed this invite and brought Rain with him.
Trevor and Rain walked into the dark room, only to have Duncan close the door on them. Not realizing that Rain was also in the room he set off the explosives. He heard the screams of both dragons, and realized that Rain was in there too. After it was all over he went to investigate the room, looking for the remains of his forbidden love. He found Trevor, still alive, but nothing was found of Rain.
Trevor, depressed from losing Rain, frantically looked around hoping to find anything that would point to her being alive. The two gave up their search. Duncan was about to leave the room when he saw her standing in the door way. Trevor, however, couldn't see her. Duncan tried to talk to her, but soon realized that her eyes were glowing. Her bright, green eyes had turned a neon yellow and were glowing. She started chanting, it sounded demonic. She disappeared as quickly as she appeared. They spent the rest of the night huddled together in fear, as they both heard strange sounds and watched things fall over and fly across the room. Duncan was the only one who could see her, but both could heard her. Duncan saw her glowing eyes several times during the night. He had found that certain objects scare her, and would use those to block windows and doors so she couldn't get in. Three days later the two have grown closer. Both had continuously apologized over and over again for their behavior. Trevor finally admitted that Rain was just his sister and that he was looking out for her. He wanted her to find a good mate, and pushed Duncan to his limits to make sure he was the right fit.
Trevor then stopped acting and told Duncan that he had passed. Rain came into the room to congratulate him on becoming her mate.
It took a minute for him to realize that he had been played. Rain never died, she faked her death as a final trail. Duncan had passed his final trail and would become her mate.
