Going back home

The phone call I'd never expect. "Hey, sweetheart. How are you doing?", "Oh hi Mrs D, I'm great what's up? Actually you wouldn't happen to know where Ali is would you. Yesterday was the first day in history she never messaged me so I messaged her and she still hasn't replied, hello? Mrs D, are you still there?", I continued as I didn't hear an answer. "Mrs D?", "Oh yes, I'm here darling. I- Allison has gone missing", "Huh? Aha, that's a funny joke Mrs D, I've noticed that she went missing, what happened, too many drinks?", I rhetorically asked waiting for a laugh at the other end, though it never came. "Mrs D?", I questioned only to breakdown in sobs over the phone.

"Woah, there. Mrs D, wait- is Ali actually missing?", I questioned not wanting to hear the answer. "Y-yes, and I- just wanted you to know alright sweetheart, we are looking for her okay? T-there's no need to worry. J-just stay safe and s-say hi to your mum for me alright. I love you", and with that she hung up. Immediately I went calling the girls questioning them about what happened and they told me what had happened. I can't believe it though, this is definitely Allison behaviour, she's probably loving the attention from wherever she's hiding.

Months later, my nana passed away and I didn't know what I was feeling. Still no news with Allison and now my mum has gotten sick over depression of losing her own mother. I've changed a lot, over the past year, I gotta say. I cut my hair to my shoulders, grew out my bangs. I've grown into a more independent person and I love that for me. *Ping* the sound of a message attracts my attention to my phone. "I'm sorry for your loss, too bad that won't be the only loss you have -A", "Whatever weirdo", I reply back to the unknown number before tucking my phone into my pocket.

Days, months and now a whole year has passed by. Each day, I talked to Mr and Mrs D, to Aria, Spenser, Hanna and Emily and still no answers. I have nobody with me, the very few people who had my heart were gone and I had no reason to stay here. So I decided I'm going back, I'm going back to Rosewood. I'm going back home.

*Ping* "Home sweet Home, right T? You know what they say, You can leave Rosewood, but Rosewood will never leave you -A". Huh, this A person is not going to stop messaging me huh?

Finally, arriving into Rosewood I hop out of my cab which stops in front of a cafe. I mean might as well get some breakfast. I walk into the cafe where people are quick to look at me, many familiar faces, I guess recognising me. "Heya, what can I get y- Temmy?", the barista says as he finally looks up. "Uh, hello James", I reply, recognising him as one of the boys that were in the band with me at Rosewood high", "Y-you look great. When'd you get back?", he questioned as he grabbed a tea towel and wiped down the bench in front of him where crumbs laid. "Thanks, just got back. Can I just get a caramel latte to go, please?", I said with a smile, "Sure thing". Within minutes I had my order and was walking outside enjoying the sun, it was as if nothing had ever happened with my nana, or mum, or Allison or in my life as a matter of fact. It was only a few weeks ago that they found her body and had her funeral, but my mum got really sick in that time frame so I couldn't have made it. "Behind!", a voice from behind yells making me turn around. "Hu-", before I knew it, I smacked flat into his chest causing me to almost fall backwards into the cafe tables out front.

"I'm sorry", the long haired boy said as he readjusted his back straps. "Are you new here?", he asked as I looked up at him. "Uhh, yeah. Something like that", I laughed as I stood upright readjusting my own backpack. "Ah, alright. Well, I'm glad I'm one of the first people you will meet, I'm Caleb", he said shifting his laptop into his left hand and then putting out his right for me to shake.

"Temara", I smiled as I shook his hand. "What?", I questioned as his face turned into a confused face. "Uh, nothing. I'll see you around", Caleb yelled as he continued off to wherever he was going. *Ping* "Sweetest little Hanna is not so little anymore, that right there was the first time Hanna's boyfriend met Mama Bear, rate out of 10? -A" "Hanna's boyfriend? Wait, Cale-", and he was already gone. So what to do first I don't know. After an hour of walking around Rosewood I decided to stop by the school and give my transfer papers.

"Temara?", I heard as I was about to walk into the front office. "Mrs Montgomery, how are you?", I stopped what I was doing and went to hug her. "Oh sweetheart it is so great to see you. I'm amazing, you look amazing. Wow, you've gotten so tall? How's ma?", she began bombarding me with questions.

"Oh, thanks Mrs M but uh, ma passed away a few weeks ago, we had her funeral the week after Ali's was done", I said with a tight smile. "Oh, honey. I'm sorry to hear that. Well, do the girls know you're back?", she smiled softly as she placed a hand on my right arm. "Oh, not yet. It's a surprise", I smiled widely at her. "I'm just gonna go give this in alright. I'll see you around Mrs M", I laugh as I begin to walk off.

"Yes, yes you will. Have a good day T!", and with that we were both off on our own ways again. For the rest of the day I decided to stay at the grill and continue some stuff; fix up my resume, book a motel, learn who everyone was and all the good stuff. "Order for Dilaurnetis", my head whipped up so fast I believe that my future generations to come while suffer from whiplash.

Immediately, I got up and began walking over to the counter. "I'm sorry, but my husband specifically asked for no pepper on his egg and bacon sandwich-", "and hold the tomatoes on the BLT", I finished for her as she turned around. "These people can just never get your order right, right Mrs D?", I asked rhetorically as I laughed.

"Temara!", she yelled completely shocked that I was standing there in person. "I- what are you doing back sweetheart? You did yourself a favour by leaving!", she laughed as we stood at the front counter. "I heard about your mum, your aunt Laura had informed me", she said softly. "I'm okay though Mrs D, I was lonely back there; So I decided to come back home", "Ah, you can leave Rosewood, but Rosewood will never leave you", she said as she collected her order. "Why does everyone say that?", I laughed. "Because it's true, darling. Jason couldn't last a month out there", she laughed as she waved me off. Okaaay. Looking at the time, school was bound to be finished; how exactly am I going to surprise the girls?
