While I sit here, wrapped up in my blanket,
I feel as if I just can’t take it.
I am so used to being alone and depressed,
I just can’t wait till all this goes to rest.
I might have been afraid back then,
But I’ve unleashed a new me that’s been fighting within.
I won’t stop until it’s satisfied,
I can’t stop, it escaped from inside.
Board up the barricades,
Tie me down,
I’m not afraid,
I own this town.
I’ve grown since then,
I am brand new,
I know my sins,
And I know you.
You can’t stand me being set free,
You would rather me be held captive,
But here’s some news from me,
That was the old me.
The way I am now is new and improved,
Not shattered and broken,
I have been moved
What’s mattered is the unspoken.
So go telling fairytales about a beast that came,
But I’m still here, and I will not be tamed.
