IRENE

Chapter 1

Irene stepped down from the car with a briefcase in her hand. She was wearing a purple gown with sunshade. She walked into a building with the briefcase. She sighted Don with some other men on a table smoking and drinking liquor. 

Don also sighted her and laughed heartily. "Here comes the queen of my Kingdom! ". 

Irene smirked as she dropped the briefcase on the table. "Here is the merchandise! ". 

"How much does it worth? ". 

"50 million naira Don! ". 

"How much do you think our profit will be? ". 

Irene smiled. "Over 200 million naira! ". 

Don clapped his hands together. "Brilliant! How do we distribute the merchandise? ". 

"Our men will take care of that! ". 

John walked in on them, he smiled at Irene. "Baby doll! Where have you been? ". 

Irene pushed him away and went her way. 

"Why does she always get this way with me Don? ". John asked, feeling bothered by Irene's attitude towards him. 

Don smiled. "My queen isn't an easy one son! You just have to learn to play your cards right! ". 

     Irene removed her wig and sunshade, she changed her dressing into a short sleeve blouse and pants. She left the building And boarded a taxi home. She was exhausted, she walked to the kitchen to get a glass of cold water. She quickly gulped it down. She was about to take a nap until she heard a knock on the door. 

She cursed under her breath as she went over to see who was at the door.  It was a man, light skinned, tall, handsome and muscular. He was putting on a police badge. 

"How may I help you, Mister policeman? ". 

"I am Detective Adam Stone, We received some reports that there is a Wanted criminal living in this building! My men and I are going door to door, interrogating everyone who leaves in this building ". 

Irene rolled her eyeballs. "Well, you are at the wrong door Mister!. She shut her door but he pushed it open with his hands.  

"But are you aware of such? ". 

"Look here, I do not care if a wanted criminal is staying in this building. Go interrogate other neighbors and leave me alone! ". 

He chuckled. "You are a sassy one! What's your name? ". 

"I am Diane and if you don't mind, I was about taking a nap before you showed up". 

"Alright madam Diane, if you have any other information concerning this wanted criminal, kindly inform the police department. Thank you! ". 

She took one last look at him before shutting the door. She went into her room to lay on her bed. 

"They are searching for me! Who will be the idiot that is trying to snitch on me? I've got to find him or her before things get out of hand. But who can it be? ". She slowly said as she closed her eyes to sleep. 

   Adam got back to the police station. Tina walked up to him. 

"Any leads yet? ". 

He let out a sigh. "Not yet Tina! We couldn't get any reasonable information from the neighbors. "

"Were you able to meet with the man who called the station earlier to give us information about Irene?". 

"How can I meet with him when I don't even know his name?".
