Prologue

When time began on the world of Famtina it was darkness. The life on Earth had learned to harness this darkness. This allowed for the first child to be born in an element. Out of the darkness came light. Then following it was life, air, fire, water, earth, time, and death. The humans began developing new variations of these base elements in their offspring. But some humans had no elemental power. They became angry with jealousy and spite. They shunned the humans with elemental abilities. Soon they became harsher and began killing them. This started a war long forgotten over time. The elemental bound humans had the advantage of their powers, but most didn't know how to use it properly. Many lives on both sides of the war were lost. Soon the leaders of the war came to an agreement and they managed to find peace. But the war is still a reminder of what spite can do. Now today many people are born with elemental connections, and the ones who don't have these connections have found ways to help society. Most do simple work in offices. Some manufacturer buildings and weapons. Some teach the ways of society. Many people live peacefully in the city of Randaya. But for these seven unfortunate souls, that is not the case.
