Chapter 1: when your father cares more about a company than his own adult son.

"Son, it's about time you stop wearing your baggy garbage that you have the audacity to even call clothing. It's time for you to get your life together. Don't embarrass me."

Of course, the same ol' shit. Taehyung faught the urge to roll his eyes as he stood in front of his father's large oak desk, screaming 1000s of dollars.

What a waste of money.

Taehyung's father was stern. An old hag, who had nothing better to do but to yell at him almost every day because he apparently looked like trash.

According to his father, taehyung was equivalent to a trash bag. That's what taehyung concluded after 10 years of constant insulting in his perspective.

Coming from a wealthy family worth millions, he felt out of place.

Very out of place.

Now living with his dad, since his half brothers Namjoon and Seokjin had moved out, his life felt like it was falling apart. In reality, he had no reason to be. He had everything he could ever want, he was not a broke young man, and surprisingly his father hasn't kicked him out yet. If it weren't for his half brothers and their support...not to be depressing but....he may have ended his life at this point.

Money clearly does not bring you happiness.

To be truthful, taehyung was a momma's boy. She left one night when he was 10 years old, and never returned. He didn't know to this day, and he didn't bother figuring it out. His mom left for a reason, so why bother?

Taehyung didn't want to admit he really missed his mom. A lot.

Taehyung sighed with an exaggerated tone, looking back at his father directly in the eye, placing his hands in his baggy hoody pocket, "do you have anything more to say?"

His father scoffed, eyes hardening with irritating. "Excuse me?"

"I said, 'do you have anything---'"

"The disrespect you have! How dare you??"

"ME?" Taehyung let out an obnoxious fake laugh. "HOW DARE YOU?" he snapped, clenching his fists and refraining himself from throwing something expensive towards the french window. "You call me to your office, only to complain about my entire existence really. I'm treated like SHIT."

"Taehyung---"

"Disown me already!" Taehyung didn't let his father speak any further, "I know you want to. Right??? But headlines will spread fast, and Kim Clinesque will fall apart won't it? IT's all about the fucking company!" The bottled up anger he had, was no longer able to be kept within.

He had had enough.

His father was shocked, the moment he saw his son react with pure rage and frustration.

His father absolutely did not know how to be a father. He was not wired to be a parent. His anger took the toll of him, and yes, the company did play a huge role in his life. It was the reason for their wealth and comfort. He couldn't destroy it. He had lost 3 marriages, 2 of his sons had moved out, and he couldn't lose his income, company, and home.

But the question was, was his son more important or the company?

"We will be meeting someone this evening for dinner. I have your suit prepared, make sure you wear it. You may leave now." Taehyung's father continued to do his work, no longer acknowledging Taehyung's presence. This implied, that there was no room for complaints like a child. No one argued with Taehyung's father's orders.
