「07 -Puzzle Game」

...Rumor has it that monsters lurk in an empty mansion,

On the outskirts of town.

Hiroshi and his classmates, Takurou, Takeshi, Mika and (Y/N), enter the mansion,

And are attacked by the bizarre monster known as Aooni.

Can they solve a series of puzzles and escape the mansion?

Or...

Are they really going to mess with the mansion's myriad puzzles?

You're supposed to be trying to escape, remember?!

Serious questions about their taste in games are being asked now.

Third person POV

The screen starts with Takeshi, Mika, (Y/N) and Takurou trying to solve a puzzle on the wall, with a piano appear to be beside them.

"One, four, one, four." Takeshi mumble as he submitted the answer. But sadly after he submitted the answer it's only replied with a red words, said 'Locked'.

"One, four, one, five." He's submit the answer again as the last one become five instead of four. As it's turn out it's was also not the real answer, it's replied with a words said again, 'Locked'.

"We've got a long way to go." Mika sigh, with a (Y/N) who put both of their hand on head, replying, "I may sometime play puzzle game, but this one got my non existence brain cells."

"What are you four doing?" Hiroshi, appear and ask, thinking about what his other friend's is doing.

"Trying to crack this safe." Takurou answer as he point at the puzzle, "It has a four-digit code. By starting at 0000 and going up one digit at a time, eventually we'll get it!" Takeshi explain while he's making a two thumbs up.

"... Indeed." Hiroshi said as he push his glasses, countless time, "We've been at it for over an hour..." Mika said, while she go and play piano.

"From an efficiency standpoint, it's a very ineffectual, time-wasting method." Hiroshi said, "Oh, shut up. It won't matter once it's open. There might be something in here to help us escape." Takurou shout at Hiroshi, while pointing at the puzzle.

Takurou and Takeshi turn to the puzzle, before they can continue solving, Hiroshi walk in and explain, "With gimmicks like this, you just have to consider every angle from a scientist point of view."

"Oh really?" (Y/N) turn at Hiroshi. "What's scientific about it?" Mika questioned as soon as she stopped to play piano.

"These symbols are a crucial hint. And this room has a grand piano in it..." Hiroshi said beforehe started to think, looking at the piano that have number that made out by blood, '915'.

"That's it! Mika-san, can you play Russian folk music?" Hiroshi requested, in which Mika did. "Russian folk?" She started to play the music. "Like this?"

While she continue playing, the floor that the puzzle was open out of blue and it's reveal a giant game machine.

"Wh-What the... A game?" Takurou said, as both of they witnessed a giant gaming machine came out of where.

"Those symbols represented a puzzle game." Hiroshi explain, both Takurou, Takeshi and (Y/N) cheer, "Science is awesome!"

"I'll beat this in no time." Takurou started to play it first.

"Build 'em up, then clear 'em in one shot... Come on, straight! Damn it, I'm not getting any straight blocks!"

He lose, the gaming machine screen show a words, 'GAME OVER'.

"Straight block..." Takurou mumbled as he put his both hand on his head.

"My turn..." Takeshi go ahead to the gaming machine, and thus begin the game. Takurou, who was now lost, was thinking about life.

Turn out, that Takeshi was playing very well at the start, "You're really good, Takeshi!" Even Mika compliment him. "That my friend right there." said (Y/N) with a proud looking expression on their face.

"I guess. Whoa, what's that?" Go back to gaming machine screen, it's suddenly appear the monster face. It's appear to replace the block.

"What do I do with these?!" Takeshi shout, it was too fast and now he lost, as the screen show up a words that once again hurt, 'GAME OVER'.

And now, Takeshi join Takurou, thinking about life.

(Y/N) then decided to try it out, it's the same case like Takeshi, Good at first, monster appear and they lost. "Damn it! It's all because of the monster block out of nowhere..." Mika patting their back as a comfort.

"It looks like it's up to me." Hiroshi go ahead to the gaming machine, gently push (Y/N) away while pushing his glasses once again. Takeshi stopped to thinking of life as he realize Hiroshi finger look oddly weird, "Hiroshi... Those calluses!"

"You've done a lot of gaming!" Takeshi said as Hiroshi hand slowly putting on the controller.

Everyone was shock. Hiroshi, the bookworm and smart looking guy actually able to play games very well. He even know to make use of Ao oni face to become the straight block.

"Not that much, really." Hiroshi said. "I have a long way to go myself."

"Not that much?! That was literally pro moves right there!" (Y/N) shouted, "Look at his fingers. He's inhuman! Scary!" Takurou said as he stare at Hiroshi hand. It so fast you can't really tell.

"Yikes! His eyes are all over the place!" Takeshi yell.

"Hiroshi, you're awesome, but freaky!" Mika compliment him but also show a disgust look at the same time.

"Are you not even tired?" (Y/N) ask, now started to worry, "Freaky or not, he's almost beaten the game!" Takurou point at the game screen, before another monster looking block thing appear out of nowhere.

"What's with that fish fillet thing?" Takeshi question. The other monster looking block thing drop too fast that even Hiroshi has trouble with it. "I-It's too fast! Too-"

The game screen reveal to be filled with the tiny monster at the screen. And it's reveal a words, once again a painful words saying 'GAME OVER'.

The five of them become tired, "You almost had it..." Takurou mumble.

"Hey, is something falling?" Takeshi asked, soon realized that Takurou being smashed by the block without a warning, so do the other and himself.

The block that smashed all five of them, disappear out of nowhere...
