Akaashi left the gymnasium a bit heart broken. Bokuto had lost one of the most important matches of the year and he couldn't help thinking about how his friend might feel. He waited patiently outside the gym with a lot of people as well; families with middle school kids and also people his age that he presumed were trying to get the teams autographs.

Akaashi moved a little far away from the crowd that was gathering at the gate and thought about Bokuto again. He couldn't help but doing it; they knew each other for so long and their relationship was very strong. Friends relationship. The kind of friends that still got in touch after high school, the ones that when grew up started going out to bars and karaoke to drink and have a good laugh. Also the ones that were touchy and didn't mind skin ship at all and might have hugged for a period of time that would not be recommended. They also got flirty from time to time but that was okay, they were friends after all. Very good all time friends.

Akaashi's heart pounded hard and loud in his chest. Yet, he didn't have much time to think because the gates were finally open and the Black Jackals were coming out. He visualized Bokuto who was signing some autographs with a tiny smile on his face and he knew, of course Akaashi knew how awful he felt about the defeat but now that he was a grown up man, he wouldn't show it. A few minutes later, Bokuto met his eyes and wave his hand and jog right away to meet him.

"Akaashi! You made it!" he greet him with a tight hug and when they separated a little, Bokuto's hands were resting on his hips. Akaashi swallowed hard.

"I wouldn't miss a game of yours, you know that" and he meant it "are you ready to go?"

Bokuto gave him a nod and a smile and finally his hands left Akaashi's side. The younger took a deep breath and started walking. They didn't mind saying goodbye to the rest of the team; everybody knew how Bokuto reacted when they lose a match and wouldn't dare to interrupt his only way of coping with the frustration. They walked in a confortable silence to Akaashi's car; there was indeed not much to say just to wait for Bokuto's reaction and then act accordingly.

They arrived at Akaashi's flat after fifteen minutes of driving still in silence. They entered and Akaashi went to the kitchen to prepare some coffee. He knew Bokuto would need something warm to calm down. Bokuto, on the other hand, put his bag down and sat on the couch resting his head back and looking at the sealing. He just felt so helpless, he couldn't do a thing to help his team win the match against the Schweiden Adlers and maybe if he had trained harder that wouldn't happen or maybe if somebody replaced him they could have won at last.

At the thought, some reckless tears gathered in his eyes causing him to shut them in order not to spill all of them on Akaashi's couch which would be the last thing he wanted; to ruin something in Akaashi's place.

"I know that you might feel under the weather now, because of the match" the younger handed him a cup of warm light coffee and placed his on the small table he had in front of the couch and sat down "but you also know that you are an amazing player and you did everything you could to win and maybe next time you'll get it" Akaashi tried to reassure him as much as he could, trying to find the exact words to cheer him up.

Bokuto placed his cup next to the other and faced his friend with a dishearten expression. And with no words he hugged him tightly, desperately. Akaashi hugged back and rubbed his hands up and down repeating "it's okay" from time to time. After a few minutes, Bokuto loosen the hug just to observe Akaashi's face closely. He didn't utter a single word; he touched Akaashi's face very softly with his rough hands and wondered how this man was even real.

Something clicked inside him and he knew. His eyes opened a little bit and made Akaashi ask what the hell was happening. When he was about to do so, a pair of soft lips landed on his and Akaashi forgot how to even think. The only thing that mattered was the fact that, even though the younger was surprised, he wanted that to happen for a long time now but he didn't dare to admit it until now.

Bokuto's kiss was gentle, slow and a bit sad. Because, well, the older was indeed sad after all. Akaashi reacted a few seconds later, moving his lips slowly and carefully savoring the moment. That was it; it was everything that Akaashi wanted from Bokuto and he was finally getting it without saying a word. In silent agreement, both started to feel that the kiss was just too sweet for their taste and they wanted more. It seemed that they couldn't get enough of each other.

The pace of the kiss was now quicker. They explored each other mouth with all they had; they tried to suppress any bad feeling that they conveyed inside them just with their kisses. And after what it could have been an hour or a few minutes their marvelous kiss ended and the inevitable happened. They would finally have to face a situation that was postponed for many years now.

"I'm..." Bokuto tried to start but Akaashi cut him right away.

"If you are going to say you are sorry, notice that I'll get extremely pissed because I know that you wanted this as much as I did."

Akaashi was dead serious, sharp and determined when speaking, as he always was and Bokuto couldn't be more delighted. It was him all along the way, his friend from all this years; the one that always stood beside him to give him silent comfort and a warm hug when needed. The knowledge came to him as an epiphany, like if his eyes had been covered by a blindfold and now he was free. He smiled.

"Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to warm up the coffee." he said as he stood up and grabbed the cups that were now cold on the table. "Because I think we have a lot to talk about now, Kotarou."

Bokuto nodded yes and Akaashi left. He didn'thave much to say to the situation other than tell the younger how much he lovedhim. He smiled again; a warm feeling growing in his chest. He knew that thecoffee wouldn't be needed now but he was not going to say it. After all, he lovedhow Akaashi's coffee tasted.
