Your POV

Lunch with Shawn went better than I expected. I mean, I enjoyed it a lot, which was unexpected. I kind of expected him to be a giant flirt, with his reputation and all. I was thinking to myself as I walked to my art class, spacing out. I had my hand on the door as I heard two girls talking to each other as they walked through the hall.

"Hey, I saw Y/N with Shawn Hunter yesterday. What does she think she'd doing? Everyone knows that I have a thing for him" the girl said. I knew that her name was Elena or something, she was pretty popular among the guys.

The girl that was with Elena was... what was her name again? Is that really important right now though? "Someone needs to teach her to stay in her lane. You and Shawn are made for each other, with your date being Friday night and all" she said.

My heart dropped into my stomach as I heard about Shawn's date with Elena. I had no idea why though, it's not like I have feelings for him or anything. I guess a playboy will always be a playboy. I walked into the art room and sat with my friend, Sasha. She was working on a self-portrait made out oil pastels. I sat in the empty spot next to her, letting out a sigh.

"Did you know that Shawn is going on a date with that Elena girl?" I blurted out. I immediately covered my mouth with my hand, letting my thoughts get the best of me.

Sasha looked over to me, her mouth was open in shock. "Did the Y/N... just talk about a boy like that?" she asked me.

I was mentally cursing at myself; she was right. It was rare to almost nonexistent for me to talk about any boys, especially ones like Shawn. Yeah, he was sweet to me while we talked, but it doesn't hide the fact that he has dated almost every girl at John Adams High.

I uncovered my mouth and shook mt head a bit, getting the thoughts out of my head. "What did I just say? It's not important... just forget that I said anything" I said, trying to brush it off, but I knew that Sasha wouldn't let me live it down.

"Ah, I see that you're falling... I get it" Sasha said with a light laugh. "If you want him that bad, just ask him out or something" she said. She paused what she was doing on her piece to look to me. "And stop saying that you're not falling for him" she said.

I rolled my eyes at what she said, keeping quiet. I let out a sigh and took out my sketch book, doodling in there before class started.

Shawn's POV

I walked into the cafeteria, looking around for Y/N, but I spotted Cory. "Cor! Have you seen Y/N?!" I asked as I ran up to Cory.

Cory pointed over to where Y/N was sitting at the lunch table. He was too busy eating the sandwich that Topanga made him to say anything.

I gave him a thumbs up and started to head over to her, until I was stopped by a body. I stepped away and looked to see who it was. "Sorry, I need to get by" I said.

The girl stood there; it was Elena. "Hey Shawnie, are you excited for our date on Friday? Because I am" she said to me. I had to fish the memory of asking her out from my mind. I had totally forgot about the date; it was so unlike me.

"Huh?" I asked her, looking over her shoulder to see if Y/N was still there. "Oh, yeah, we're going to Chubbies" I said to her, revealing to where the date is going to be. I couldn't care less at this point, Y/N is the one who I wanted a date with. I stepped past Elena and headed for Y/N.

Elena looked at me with a confused look on her face, as if I had grown another head. "Oh- I guess I'll see you there then!" she said. She went back to her table, leaving me alone.

I sat down next to Y/N, smiling at her. She changed her hair today; it was in braids. One thing that my father had always told me was to compliment a girl on something new, if you were trying to win her over. "Hey, I like your hair, the braids suit you" I said.

Y/N looked over to me, smoothing out her hair. "Thanks..." she said. She put down her water, turning to me.

"So" I said. I was trying to think of what to say to her. I didn't want to rush into things so soon, wanting to be sure of what I was feeling first. "Can you watch my sister this Friday after school? Like, pick her up and stuff?" I asked in a panic. I mentally hit myself, wondering how such a stupid thing could come out of my mouth.

I could see her clear her throat. "Uh... yeah, I'm free that day. Just send me the information and I can pick her up... you got a date?" she asked me.

I didn't know what to say to her, I didn't want to lie. I just nodded slowly. "Yeah, but it's not like it's serious or anything" I said. It was the truth, I was definitely not going to give Elena two weeks, just one date to get it over with. I'm a man of my word.

I got up from the seat, giving her the famous smile and hair flip. "Well, I'll see you around" I said. I quickly sped off in some direction, not knowing where I was going. I headed for the vending machine, looking at it. I just had to open my big mouth! Now she'll think that I'm not serious. Well, I have to show her that I am, after the date with Elena.
