(The feels are gonna kick in here boys)

Mondo walked out to where he parked his motorcycle, reaching for his box of cigarettes before stopping as he remembered what he promised Taka. I have to keep my promise this time. I have to. Mondo said to himself and got onto his bike, starting it up and driving off.

He went on his usual route but stopped at Taka's house this time. Up on the top of the porch was Taka with his knees tucked up into his chest and his head buried in them. This sight alone made Mondo feel a wave of emotions, and he needed to check on Taka. He parked and got off his bike, making his way up to the porch. He was slightly surprised Taka didn't notice he was there, even though he was standing right in front of him. Mondo carefully tapped on Taka's shoulder. The smaller boy quickly shot his head up to look at whoever was there. He still had tears streaming down his face.

"O-oh... he-hello Mondo.. what a-are you doing he-here..?" Taka didn't bother wiping his face and gave Mondo a small smile.

Mondo sighed. "I just.. I was riding by and saw you. And I want to ask what's wrong." The bigger male sat down next to him.

"Uhm...... we-well my father i-isn't too happy with my gr-grades and might have yelled at me about the-them and how I should 'worker harder'... and he.. um.. threatened to ban me fr-from going to the band....." Taka's voice trailed off, more tears straming down his face. This left Mondo in a rage.

"That's fucking stupid! Your dad shouldn't be threatening to ban you from doing something you love! That's so goddamn stupid!" Mondo yelled, kind of shocking Taka. Mondo realized his outburst and started to calm himself down. "Sorry Taka, I just hate parents doing that type of shit.." He rubbed the back of my neck.

"I-it's alright Mondo, that's an understandable opinion. I just don't know when I can go back inside now..." Taka looked down at his knees. Suddenly, Mondo got an idea.

"Hey.. what if you come over to my place?" He offered.

"Are you sure? I don't want to be a burden.."

"I'm sure Taka, and you're not gonna be a burden, bro." He stood up and held his hand out for Taka. "Now let's get going."

The two hopped off Mondo's motorcycle, Taka still slightly shaken up from the ride, and headed inside. Mondo swung open the door and walked inside, Taka following. "Make yourself at home bro." Mondo said as he flopped on the couch. Taka nodded and took a look around. Everything was normal and the house was nicely sized, but one picture set on the counter caught his eye. It was a picture of a younger looking Mondo with an... older looking one? But, different at the same time. He gently grabbed the picture and inspected it more. The two were both smiling brightly, looking at the camera.

Curiosity got the better of him and he asked about it. "Hey Mondo? Who are you in this photo with?" He asked looking back at Mondo and pointed to the picture. Mondo looked up at him and to the picture, sadness was immediately written all over his face. "Oh um.. that's Daiya, he was my older brother.." Mondo down and Taka became even more confused.

"Was? Are you saying he isn't anymore?"

Mondo sighed and held back his tears. "He's..... dead now, Taka. And it's my own fucking fault."

Taka set down the picture and walked to Mondo. "What do you mean by that..?"

"I was driving too recklessly trying to win a goddamn race that I challenged myself to. I would've been ran over if Daiya didn't get in the way.. he would've still been alive if I wasn't being a fucking idiot.... and it's all my fault..." He gave up on trying to hold back his tears and just let them flow, which was a new sight for Taka. He had never seen him cry before, and it was honestly heart breaking for him. Mondo was blaming this whole thing on himself. Taka didn't say a word until he embraced the bigger male in a hug.

Mondo didn't hesitate to hug back, he knew he needed this right now...
