Chapter one

Before Courtney met Luke.

Courtney's POV

@_courtz - time to celebrate being eighteen!

I send out a tweet and attach a photo of me in my hotel bed with a wide smile on my face.

So I'm in London with my best friend Avery to celebrate, I'm originally from Brisbane Australia and Avery is from Sydney, we met when we were just thirteen years old at a party held by a mutual friend of ours.

Since it was recently my eighteenth birthday and we're here in London due to finishing school we are going out tonight to a local club that Avery's boyfriend Calum uninvited us too.

I'm excited but nervous because we're celebrating my eighteenth with 5 Seconds of Summer, I'm sure you've heard of them.

Well the bassist Calum Hood has known Avery since they were about five or six and they're now dating.

They've been together for a year and even though Avery and I have been friends for years I've never met the rest of the bad except for Calum.

He's good for Avery, perfect fit as her mum says. I kind of envy their relationship and how Calum treats her because I can never seem to find someone like him.

So you can see where I'm coming from when I say I'm excited and nervous. I'm meeting the biggest band in the world right now and we're celebrating my eighteenth and they're also very attractive boys.

"Cal and Luke are coming over before Court" Avery told me as she walked over towards the kitchen.

"Okay, I'm going to go and have a nap for like an hour, wake me up please?"

"Yeah yeah" Avery agreed as I walked to my room in our suite.

I changed out of the uncomfortable jeans and into a pair of pyjama pants and an oversized white t-shirt.

I put on music to put me asleep choosing Nicki Minaj's album Pink Print.

I wake up to the sound of a male voice yelling from outside my door.

I groan and get up from my bed and walk towards the door.

I open the door to reveal a smiling Calum Hood.

"Well well, hello Courtney" Calum smiled down at me.

"Cal!" I said reaching up and hugging him.

Now since Avery and Calum have been dating for a while and have been friends forever I've met Calum and gotten to know him pretty well.

I would like to say we're pretty close since I've just always known him through Avery. He's cocky as fuck but one of the funniest people I know and well consider him my big brother.

"How have you been?" He asked as he walked into my room.

"Eh, graduated, turned eighteen, got cheated on, you know the usual" I said with a wink.

"I'm sorry about you and Christian, I know you loved him" Calum said smiling down at me.

"I didn't love him, I thought I did but whatever it was it wasn't love" I said with a small chuckle "I'm convinced you're the only decent guy on this earth Cal, and I'm happy Avery has you" I said sincerely.

"You'll find someone Court, I promise" he said before walking back towards the door. "Do you want to meet Luke?" He asked.

I looked down at what I was wearing and shook my head.

"Not really looking my best at the moment" I said with a laugh.

"Neither does he, we aren't ready yet either"
