The Powers; Book One-Lost Memories

Prologue

Glacier quickly grabbed her bow and arrows off the rack and ran to the stable where they kept their dragons. She strung the quiver on the attachment on her dragons saddle then strung the bow over her back. This was her first mission after graduating the academy and she was determined for it to go perfectly. Suddenly her parents burst through the doors and began to prepare their dragons for flight.
Eventually they were finished and she and her parents started flying to the place where the report of supicious activity was. Glacier felt the wind buff against her face, her brown hair blowing in the wind from the ponytail it was connected by.
They landed in a small clearing in the middle of the woods. Glacier looked around but didn't see anything, neither did her parents. Just as they were about to leave, a bush rustled. Glacier quickly turned her head, she walked closer to the bush. Suddenly a person burst out, Glacier blocked his knife by pushing his arm up with her hand, she pushed him in front of her and she froze him in a spear of ice.
Glacier looked around slightly out of breath, silence filled the air.
"Maybe that was the disturbance?"
Glacier said uncertainly
"No. There's more. There's always more."
Her mother said standing next to Glacier, almost protectively. Her father was further away watching, he looked different today, but Glacier was sure she was just imagining things.
"Charge!"
A call sounded from deep in the forest. A few seconds of silence went by when an army pushed through the bushes, Glacier quickly made a wall of ice. Men started to figure out how to climb over. Her mother turned to her.
"Glacier, run! Go! Go to your siblings!"
"What about you and Dad?! You'll die on your own! Even if I was here we'd all die!"
"Glacier."
Her father spoke
"That's why we need you alive."
Glacier felt tears form at the corners of her eyes.
A man dropped over the wall and charged at her father, he stopped him but more came over.
"Go! Now!"
Her mother said pushing her towards her dragon then turning to fight off the army.
Glacier climbed into her dragon and she flew upwards, she hovered have the clearing. Her parents were fighting hard then a huge man crashed through the wall. Her father looked at him. Glacier gasped.
"The Eclipse Order Leader..."
Her father struck the leader, but then the leader swiftly stabbed him in the gut, Glacier could see the blood form when the blade had impaled him. Her mother saw her father and started crying, she looked up at Glacier and mouthed,
"I love you."
Then her mother was stabbed. Glacier cupped a hand over her mouth as she started crying. She turned away and started to head home. How was she going to tell her siblings? How was she going to tell Valen, she was only eight.
Suddenly a pop sound made Glacier look up, a net was flying towards her but it was too late to turn away, as it hit she blacked out. The last thing she saw was an Eclipse Order ship looking over her, about to take her into it's grip.
