The world grew old and nothing new grew from it. 

The population boomed. Billions of people crowded the surface of the planet, fighting for resources. Food. Water. Air.  Disease ran rampant. A solution was created... a gentically altared seed that would save the worlds energy resources and stave starvaion for the masses. Crushed for its oil, The Seed could provide clean, safe energy for millions. Rasied for its grain, The Seed would feed millions due to its resistance to diease and drought.

Blight is a dystopian fiction book about a time when men played god with genetics and lost. How one gentically modified seed altared the reprocution of not only the food chain, but animals and humans alike. When The Seed's gentically mutated code entwined with other dna sequences, it permantely modified the source of all life on the planet by rendering all life source barren, unable to reproduce.

Yet unmodified life still exisited in the pocket of a little girl a decade after the last child was born, a century after the last plant had bloomed...
