The clack of her heels echoed down the empty street like a pinball rattling loose from the gates. Picking up the pace, she gathered her coat around her neck as she nervously scanned the street for something recognizable. Empty store fronts mirrored her movements in their glass display windows as she began to run.

Taylor knew that time had ran out.

They had found her. Like a woolen blanket, the air around Taylor hung thick and heavy on her skin with static. Her breath came in labored gasps. Time was running out. The charge in the atmosphere grew with each step she took. She didn't dare turn her head and look back. Sounds of the guns charging filled her ears. Her life was over, she knew this now, but there was still hope for the future. She frantically scanned the empty metropolitan street for a place to hide the treasure hidden in her pocket. The air began to crackle as the space around her began to crinkle in anticipation of the sudden electric discharge that would erase Taylor's memory from history.

Time was up.
