Marriage talk

Hii this is my first one-shot! Please if you have any ideas, I need help. Thanks, hope you enjoy it. ^^

"What do you think about marriage?" Wally asked Artemis as they were settling down to bed for the night.

"I don't think I'll ever get married"

"Why," Wally said looking at Artemis with a curious expression.

"I've seen too many marriages end with divorce." It wasn't that she didn't believe in love, she loved Wally so much. She just didn't think that you need a piece of paper to say that you love someone. "Let's get to bed I'm tired."

Wally stayed where he was. "If we got married I would never divorce you, babe." He wrapped one arm around Artemis's waist and cupped her soft face with the other. "It would not end like that."

"My partners were married for 15 years unit they separated. My dad said that he would never leave her but then he cheated on her. I'm just scared." She said with tears in her eyes. Wally had rarely seen Artemis this vulnerable.

Wally rubbed her back with his hand and pushed her head into his chest. "I love you, I understand that it would be scary. I'm sorry about your parents."

"I'm sorry Wally, I love you so much."

"It's ok, I think my little spitfire needs some rest." He said as he pulled the covers over them, mainly Artemis because Wally being a speedster has enough body heat to heat an entire town.

"And Wally?" Artemis asked rolling over to look at him.

"Yes?"

"I think I would get married to you someday, I'm just not ready yet." She said before kissing him, then setting her head back into Wally's chest.

Wally kissed her on the top of her head, and her breathing changed which meant that she had fallen asleep. He started to drift off with a large smile on his face.

My parents got divorced after 15 years of marriage, 4 years ago. Just this month I found out that my dad cheated on my mom and it hurt but what can you do? So I thought I would add that in. I'm also now a bit scared to fall in love I don't want to get hurt as my mom did. Well enough sob story for me. Stay safe and happy...
