Jungkook hadn't left his house in 13 days. He had received several texts from Jiyeon, apologising for her brothers behaviour. He texted back to thank her for covering for him, and that he'd explain soon enough, and things would be easier if she wanted him to come over again when her brother was there. It turned out their mother was in the hospital with terminal cancer, and their father was living by her bed side, because he loved her enough not to let her go through this alone, even when she was asleep most of the time. Jimin has moved out two years ago, and Jiyeon was meant to be living with their parents, but she was home alone most of the time due to their current situation, so Jimin came over often to cook her dinner and make sure she was okay.

It was the middle of November, and though no one knew why, Jungkook's close friends knew to leave him alone during this time, because, for reasons he wouldn't explain, he shut down entirely the same time every year, sometimes for weeks at a time. After 13 days, Jungkook finally re-entered society seeming off, but thankfully halfway back to his usual self. He felt the usual need to clear his head, so he texted Taehyung to see if he could loan his car to him, and he'd drop it back off the next day. Luckily for him, Taehyung almost never said no when it came to Jungkook, so when Wednesday rolled around, he walked over to Taehyung's place to pick up his dented student budget faded red car.
'Jungkook, you're here! Come in, let me just get the keys. Did you want a cup of coffee, or tea or anything?' Taehyung asked when he answered the door. Jungkook nodded his head as he wrote 'I'm fine thanks' with a notepad and pencil Taehyung habitually kept on his coffee table for the sole purpose of his best friends means of communication.

Taehyung returned to the living room with his car keys, chucking them at jungkook without warning. Jungkook didn't even have to look up from the notepad as he caught them above his head with his non dominant hand. 'Don't flex on me like that jungkook, you make me feel so bad about my reflexes.' Taehyung chuckled as he plonked himself down on the sofa opposite his friend. Jungkook whisper laughed, a sort of quick succession of short breaths. Not even laughing could force his voice box to cooperate.
'Where are you taking my only vehicle for the day?' Taehyung asked, one eyebrow raised.
-Icarus Waters- Jungkook wrote.
Icarus Waters was a massive Clearwater lake just outside of Busan, surrounded on all sides by dense forest. It got it's name through some ancient speculation that Icarus hollowed out the ground in that spot when he fell to earth after burning his wings, and the hollow filled with clear rainwater, causing him to drown. But everybody knew that was bullshit, because Icarus fell into the sea. The lake was beamed because of its vaguely angel shaped perimeter from a birds eye view, a head shape, shoulders, legs, wings.
'Cool' Taehyung nodded. 'Well, you'd best be off now if you're planning to drive the whole way there.'
Jungkook got up, and waved at his friend, getting a sailers salute in return. Just as he was heading out the door, Taehyung called out one last thing. 'Tank's full.' Was all he said, turning round to look at Jungkook, who sent places his hand on his heart and furrowed his eyebrows in comic gratitude before leaving, shutting the door on Taehyung's laughter. He had been fully willing to get his own petrol, sometimes Taehyung could be too generous for his own good, but he'd only do that for one person: Jungkook. How could you resist him? He had the face of an angel and the temperament of an irratic puppy.

Jungkook opened the car on Taehyung's drive and hopped in the driver's seat. He plugged in his seatbelt and started the car, shifting the gear stick to reverse, and pressing his foot down on the clutch. He successfully backed out of Taehyung's driveway and drove off to the east. The car drive was pleasant enough, the further he got to his destination, the route to which he knew off by heart, the denser the forest became.
