Chapter 13

After what had went down yesterday. It made both of us think more about our future. Any who, I was getting ready to surprise Alyssa with breakfast. Jessi is with Alyssa's parents in North Carolina for a week or so. But I'm going to try & perk her up she's still a little upset from yesterday. I was acting like an ass & I hate seeing her like that. So I got her breakfast set up all nicely on a tray and made my way upstairs to the bedroom. She was sleeping so beautifully.

"Wake up baby"

She started moving around in her sleep, she stretched & yawned.

"Surprise babe!"

"Aw hun thank you sweetie"

I went over to the bed & placed the tray in her lap, then I slid next to her & planted a kiss on her cheek

"No problem, I know that I was acting like an ass yesterday & I just want you to know i'm sorry & I love you"

"I love you Steph"

She leaned over and pecked me on the lips

"Now dig in love"

After she finished eating breakfast, we went down stairs to the kitchen so I could clean up. As we were talking while I was cleaning there was a ring from the doorbell.

"Who in the hell could that be?" I said

Me and Alyssa walked to the front door to see who it was. When I opened the door I almost went black.

"..Uhh hi guys" said Ayesha

"How the hell did you know I stayed here huh?"

"I uh kinda tailed you yesterday from the store. I was gonna come yesterday but I seen it was kinda heated between you guys, so I just left."

"Well what do you want?"

"I just wanna explain to you"

Alyssa seen that we needed privacy so she was about to head upstairs.

"Umm babe I'll be upstairs"

She waved bye to Ayesha & headed upstairs

"Come in"

She slowly walked in & started looking around

"Nice place you got here"

"Yeah..thanks"

We stood in silence for a few moments before I decided to clear my throat.

"Oh I'm sorry Stephen..Um I just wanted to come by & explain to you why I did what I did & didn't tell you."

"Okay I'm listening"

She sat & started to talk.

"Okay so you remember a few weeks before I left? I had missed my cycle & was feeling sick. I instantly got scared knowing what those symptoms could possibly mean. I wanted to be sure so, I went to the clinic & took a test. The test ended up coming back positive."

"Okay..Why didn't you just tell me?"

"Steph.. you were at the top of your game with the warriors & I didn't want to bombard you with another pregnancy that could possibly fail..again."

"But you know I would've been there for you no matter the outcome."

Her eyes started to tear up.

"...I know. But I was just scared & tired of being hurt by my miscarriages. I didn't want to go through another one. Also, we were also always bickering and arguing & I knew being pregnant at that moment would probably just add fuel to the fire."

"But anyways, obviously I had a successful pregnancy and had a beautiful baby girl..Riley Elizabeth Curry."

"Why didn't you reach out to me and tell you had our baby Ayesha huh?"

" I promise I was going to tell you after she was a few weeks old..But I was just so scared of what you would do or say. Especially the way I just left you high & dry. So I just kept putting it off. But until I ran into you & she was with me.. I had no choice but to come & explain."

I was honestly so pissed..I got up & started pacing around until I got so fustrated & angry I punched a hole in the wall

"FUCK AYESHA. DAMN IT"

Alyssa came rushing downstairs.

"Oh my god what the hell happened." She yelled concerned

Ayesha was crying apologizing, pleading for my forgiveness

"Wardell please. I'm so sorry I never told you please forgive me"

"AYESHA GET THE HELL OUT! NOW!"

Alyssa was attempting to calm me down

"Stephen please calm down baby."

Alyssa turned around & looked at Ayesha.

"Uh Ayesha I thinks it's best if you leave right now"

Ayesha paused & stared at me while she was crying

"...Okay I'll go"

She grabbed her things and started walking towards the door with Alyssa following behind her. She opened the door and looked back once more.

"Stephen  I'm sorry"

She then walked out the front door while Alyssa closed it behind her.

"Baby I promise you'll be able to overcome this. I'll be with you every step of the way. And if you want to be able to see your daughter you have to compromise with Ayesha."

"Lyssa I know..it just upsets me knowing that I wasn't there for her first word, first steps, first day of school, first breath in this world, or anything."

" I know it hurts love but stop dwelling on the bitter past and focus on a future with your baby be the strong & smart man I know you are okay?"

Alyssa was telling me the real I need to move on from the past & focus on right now with trying to get to know my daughter.Damn this gonna be hard to get used to now.
