This is the first draft of planning the story. I still regret not adding in the Wasteland Elder for Haru. It makes me think I might've neglected his character, but when I look back at it, I'm reminded of how much was actually in TAOHAS. Krill Boy wasn't mentioned here, nor were any of my friends. In fact, I'm glad I didn't follow this draft too closely haha.

Before the idea of a short story or a poem collection came to mind, I was thinking WAY too big. I wanted to make an ANIMATIC of Haru apologizing to Shai using the Book of Life's "Apology Song". Oh yeah, I never even mentioned what actually happened between those two in Eden. Perhaps I should officially reveal it in TAODAM, but if you want to know, the spoiler is alllll the way at the bottom of this chapter.

What do Haru and Shai actually look like in the story? Ask no more! These are the (almost) exact designs of what they looked like in the story. Haruhi had the big popular spikey hair, but other than that, this is them. The designs on the cover page are what they looked like shortly after TAOHAS ended.

About a year ago, I'd been playing Sky for a few months (since release). The oldest known designs of the two are seen in a watercolor pencil drawing back when I had a small wrist injury. I shouldn't have been holding a pencil, but it's alright! I had fun drawing this, even if Haru and "Shae" looked strange. The black marks all over them were supposed to represent the damage they took in Eden. Haru's taken a lot huh...

HARU AND SHAI BACKSTORY AND SKY: CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT SPOILER! In the early stages of creating the duo, Haru was extremely protective of everyone other than himself. When Haru and Shai went to the Eye of Eden for the first time, they went in with no knowledge that they'd die, so Haru tried to protect Shai as best as he could, but the storm of red rocks knocked her mask off and gave her a deep, permanent cut on her cheek. It was the first time anyone ever got hurt while in Haruhi's care. Ever since then, Haru hasn't been able to forgive himself for failing to protect Shai, and is constantly reminded of it every time he looks at her face.
