The image i've always pictured when I thought of the word "serene" was a clearing in the middle of a deep forest. The grass is soft and wispy, the sun shines in it as if it's the only place on earth.
I would lose myself in daydreams of this place when life got too stressful.

but now you're here
and that image resurfaces
when I think of you

You bring me peace.
I want to make you proud.
These are facts from
your impact in my life.

I owe you so much
and I take it for granted
i take you
for granted.

I hear
it's not easy
trying to love someone
for this long

I hear
that i'm stuck
in a fairy tale
never to grow up

But I know that
I'm happy and
I'm healthy and
I'm loved.

If I lose that from growing up, then I never want to. You have become my example of "serene." You are my secret clearing in the forest. Where bunnies will play and birds will sing. Where the water runs clear and the grass is soft.
Where we can sleep together and have no worries.
